I'm from the UK and have been checking on a few US people I know from internet forums who live on the East and West coast, about the likelihood of them being faced with possible tsunamis in the near future.

Most of these people are afflicted with CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome) which can mean most of them are housebound and some are bed bound. Most of them wouldn't have a chance in a tsunami caused by the Cascadi or San Andreas fault lines, so I have been researching articles such as "The Really Big One" by Kathryn Schulz in the New Yorker magazine, among others,to get some idea of what getting through a tsunami would actually be like.

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/20...really-big-one

Most articles are excellent and there appears to very well organized emergency arrangements in the West coast states once a tsunami has run its course.

The main problem of course is nobody can forecast when, and exactly where these tsunamis will happen, or even in which year.

While there are plenty of people on the internet sounding off about dreams or visions of tsunamis, most of them are fragmented much like the 'trailer' for a movie and have no details of any use, or relevant facts about when and
where the tsunamis will happen to enable people to move to safety.

As a Christian believer it seemed that very likely that as the time for any large tsunami was due to hit the US, God would have a prophet who would have a lot more of the "main movie" with a lot more details instead of all these fragmented 'trailer's, and would also show safe areas for people to move to before any tsunami struck.

I did find such a prophet and something else that made my blood run cold when I first realised the implications of what she was prophesying.

Vonda Brewer is a 50 year old Christian who has been working as a prophet out of a large 6,000 strong Evangelical church in Virginia.
for a number of years.
She is not a psychic or medium but gets her visions and dreams directly from the Holy Spirit.

I have heard a lot of prophecies over the years, so I have a strict criteria for judging whether they are from God or not. Most prophecies are so lacking in detail as to be useless. Unless they contain detail about the 'when and where' which is the subject of the prophecy they are no help whatsoever. This prophet sticks her neck out and this is very rare because if the prophecy doesn't come true their reputation is ruined which in this case means her livelihood.

Besides being specific in the details of their prophecies, the prophet must also be working under the authority of the pastor(s) in a recognised Christian church denomination, and have been trained or mentored by other more experienced Christians who have the gift of prophecy. Finally the prophecy must not contradict Scripture.

She appears to fulfill all these conditions and be working full time in
teaching and training other Christian prophets via webinars and books she has also written on dream and vision interpretation.

Another part of her ministry is taken up with counselling and dream and vision interpretation of indivuduals, but over the past few years she has been receiving dreams and visions about current and future events, mostly on the
political and international stage.

These visions appear to be being given at fairly regular intervals and for the last 6 months mostly about a nuclear attack by North Korea on both the East and West coast. She doesn't appear to know whats coming or when in the next vision, and just repeats exactly what she sees whether people like it or not.

These you tube videos are spaced out over 6/7 videos and as she hasn't put them in a seperate folder I will try and lay them out in order.with my summary. I would suggest reading all the summaries first to get the general picture. before going to the links to each video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH0-DkMYYTk

The North Korean war story started with President Obama not standing down from office and pictured at his desk writing.

She didn't know why he was still in office, but then another later vision showed a bomb coming from the NW, and it was confirmed to be from North Korea, not directly hitting the North West coast, but offshore a few miles, creating a large explosion and a big tsunami. This appeared to cover about a third of the West coast states of California,Oregon and Washington.

In the same vision a second bomb appeared to come from due North (not NW like the first), which she saw on a map of the US, to 'dip down' around the Kansas/Nebraska area and turn 90 degrees, and head for the East coast where it came down in the sea and exploded.

She described this missile 'as looking like a gun' causing extensive flooding of the East coast around the New York, Baltimore,Maryland, Virginia, Boston and DC area. Although there was no tsunami the water was described as like a
fast flowing river. I think this one was meant for the White House

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImzUEWr1O3o

This one described communications down on the NW coast due to flooding. Vision of a 3 story beach house flooded also what appears to be fire damage.
(Don't know the height of a 3 story beach house but this looks ominous to me)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJZMax6IfY4

The next vision was one showing the safe areas on the West coast for people to go to where the flooding from the first bomb will not reach. This showed a map of the West coast of California with the whole width of the state divided into a 3 lane highway and a car travelling North on the lane nearest the coast. This car was then shown moving into the middle lane which was interpreted that the middle lane and outer lane, bordering Nevada would be safe areas.

If this is correct then water may reach as far inland as 60/70 miles in some places, which sounds to me like the bomb must have set off a large tsunami..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXhrGisEEfc

There was also a prophecy about a third bomb hitting the North West coast area of Oregon/Washington .

This was the most distressing one to hear,as she saw the bomb hitting the land (not the sea) and there was many casualties and properties decimated.
There was also a promise with the vision "I WILL EXPOSE THE KING,"
It seems that the North Korea leader Kim Jong un had another name, his mother used to call him the MORNING STAR KING, believe it or not.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us_QUcpQDCk

There was also a vision with a message for those in the military thinking of leaving, to leave right away as nobody will be allowed to leave after December, presumably when the war with North Korea has started.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qspuXPYCAkE

She was also given two visions showing the extent of the damage on the East coast in the Virginia Beach area.

One showed the boardwalk with all the shops, hotels etc, had completely disappeared and the water level had risen enormously. Huge chunks had been gouged out of the coastline as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDgULlT2OAI

In another vision, entrance to the beach was prevented by high boarding fencing, but a man had somehow gotten in and was shown going into the water and frantically rushing out, because the water was still contaminated from the nuclear bomb presumably.

ALL THIS IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IN THE OCTOBER/ NOVEMBER TIME FRAME AND SHE IS EXPECTING A MORE ACCURATE TIME FRAME
NEARER THE DATE.

I must also tell you before you visit her site that it is very evangelical Christianity and the prophecies come with plenty of sermons!.

[B]Even if you don't like the theology of what you hear on her site, I would still advise you to heed the advice about making sure you move to safer areas if you live in the West Coast danger areas.
I'm putting these prophecies out to as many people as possible but time is short, October is just 4 weeks away and anytime after that you should be ready to move. If you cant move to relatives or camp out interstate somewhere, it might be the time for a holiday break away from the West coast.

Checking at her website https://www.youtube.com/user/godsgirltv/videos for a revised time period will be the signal.

In the meantime I will try and answer any further questions about whats in the actual prophecies, but I haven't got the time to go into any other questions. I'm trying to get this out to as many people as possible.

This article will give you some ideas for what you need to do about important items you need to take with you or make sure are safely stored beforehand.

https://www.newyorker.com/tech/eleme...-big-one-comes

Now may also be a good time to follow President Obama's recent advice about every family prepping for emergencies, if you haven't already done so.

http://www.activistpost.com/2016/06/...-disaster.html

Whatever you decide to do may God be with you through the coming months.

Before using UVB or sun exposure it makes sense to reduce your risk of burning by increasing your skin's natural photoprotective properties.
this thread has some useful ideas though could do with updating.
Natural Sunscreen Options
Improving vitamin D3 intake also improves your skins natural photoprotection
CYP11A1 in skin: An alternative route to photoprotection by vitamin D compounds
This paper explains the science hit link ⇣ сохранить статью for a pdf copy to download to your taskbar then use "save as" to save to documents.

Some people argue that because the 25(OH)D levels between a group of people with Eczema are typically the same as those without eczema there is no reason to believe Low vitamin D status is contributing to the eczema.
No association between allergy and current 25-hydroxy vitamin D in serum or vitamin D intake
however if we look at this article we see NONE of the people had levels above 65nmol/l (26ng/ml) and at that level there is no free cholecalciferol in tissue. You have to get well over 100nmol/l 40ng/ml before there you can measure significant amounts of cholecalciferol in tissue.

CONTROLLING BLOOD PRESSURE NATURALLY

Blood pressure and purdue pegboard scores in individuals with hypertension after alternate
nostril breathing, breath awareness, and no intervention
You can download a personal copy of the full text from the link.

One group practiced alternate nostril yoga breathing for 10 minutes,
Here is an example of Alternate nostril breathing.

Yoga Meditation Exercises : Alternate Nostril Breathing for Meditation

Following alternate nostril breathing there was a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and an improvement in Purdue pegboard task scores for both hands, and for the right hand.
Breath awareness (the control session) also showed a significant decrease in systolic blood pressure.

If you've a blood pressure test for work or similar this may be a useful strategy to adopt while you are waiting. Though obviously blood pressure increases risk for stroke so learning how to do this and practising it regularly is not going to cost anything and may help.

~A NYC Taxi Driver Wrote~

I arrived at the address and honked the horn. After waiting a few minutes I honked again. Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift I thought about just driving away, but instead I put the car in park and walked up to the door and knocked.

'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940's movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.

She kept thanking me for my kindness. 'It's nothing', I told her.. 'I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.'

'Oh, you're such a good boy, she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, 'Could you drive through downtown?'

'It's not the shortest way,' I answered quickly..

'Oh, I don't mind,' she said. 'I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice.

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. 'I don't have any family left,' she continued in a soft voice..'The doctor says I don't have very long.'

I reached over and shut off the meter.

'What route would you like me to take?' I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, 'I'm tired, let's go now'.

We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

'How much do I owe you?' She asked, reaching into her purse.

'Nothing,' I said

'You have to make a living,' she answered.

'There are other passengers,' I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly.

'You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,' she said. 'Thank you.'

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life..

I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver,or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?

On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.

But great moments often catch us unaware.. beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

Every so often I'll click on the horoscope tab to see what's in store for my year according to the stars lol
This particular one surprised me so I'm going to reread it in December to see just how accurately it parallels how my life unfolds this year

Year 2012 Overview

This year is all about non-stop action for you, Virgo. With Mars spending the entire first half of 2012 in your sign, you may start to wonder if there will be any break in sight before 2013. The first quarter of the year will be under Mars's retrograde influence, a transit that could push you into a semi-neurotic workaholic mode. Be sure to give yourself plenty of physical outlets in order to channel all that excess Mars energy. When Mars turns direct in Virgo in May, you'll possess tremendous energy to make amazing things happen!
With Neptune moving back into your partnership sector in February, you'll settle for nothing less than your true soul mate; either that or you'll feel blissfully wedded to your spiritual nature ... or perhaps a little of both! In any case, this is the time of your life to realize how important it is to satisfy the longings of your soul. You've compromised, settled and rationalized trying to make the wrong relationship right for long enough. Now you're willing to wait for the real thing.
You'll be thrilled to know that Saturn, after putting the brakes on your spending over the last few years, is finally about to take leave of your financial sector. Any financial challenges you've had to endure since 2009 should come to an end this October. A change of residence or alterations to your current abode are possibilities under the next wave of eclipse patterns. June's full Moon lunar eclipse in your domestic sector is the beginning of many profound changes to affect both home and career prospects between late 2012 and early 2013. And then, the new Moon solar eclipse in November in your communication sector could bring new potential for learning, speaking, writing or travel opportunities.

 Abstract
The gold standard for determining the efficacy of biomedical therapies is the detection of a significant difference between the therapeutic effects of an active pharmacological agent or procedure and a matched inert placebo in a randomized controlled trial.
Detecting this difference has become a challenge for medicine, especially for outcomes that are based on patient self-rated scales.
Yet factors that contribute to placebo responses have received scant attention.
In this issue of Science Translational Medicine, Bingel et al. report on an example of how noninvasive whole-brain imaging contributes to our understanding of brain-based placebo effects.
Here we highlight ways in which neuroimaging is catalyzing a revolution in society's perspective of placebo effects by providing a compelling visualization of how brain activities that reflect a person's thoughts, feelings, and past experiences can enhance or antagonize his or her response to a medical treatment.

 Abstract
Evidence from behavioral and self-reported data suggests that the patients' beliefs and expectations can shape both therapeutic and adverse effects of any given drug.
We investigated how divergent expectancies alter the analgesic efficacy of a potent opioid in healthy volunteers by using brain imaging.
The effect of a fixed concentration of the μ-opioid agonist remifentanil on constant heat pain was assessed under three experimental conditions using a within-subject design:
1) with no expectation of analgesia,
2)with expectancy of a positive analgesic effect, and
3) with negative expectancy of analgesia (that is, expectation of hyperalgesia or exacerbation of pain).
We used functional magnetic resonance imaging to record brain activity to corroborate the effects of expectations on the analgesic efficacy of the opioid and to elucidate the underlying neural mechanisms.
Positive treatment expectancy substantially enhanced (doubled) the analgesic benefit of remifentanil.
In contrast, negative treatment expectancy abolished remifentanil analgesia.
These subjective effects were substantiated by significant changes in the neural activity in brain regions involved with the coding of pain intensity.
The positive expectancy effects were associated with activity in the endogenous pain modulatory system, and the negative expectancy effects with activity in the hippocampus.
On the basis of subjective and objective evidence, we contend that an individual's expectation of a drug's effect critically influences its therapeutic efficacy and that regulatory brain mechanisms differ as a function of expectancy.
We propose that it may be necessary to integrate patients' beliefs and expectations into drug treatment regimes alongside traditional considerations in order to optimize treatment outcomes.

Your attitude and expectations of any medical intervention depend on your preconceptions about that treatment plan.

This is why I think it's important that people STUDY the science BEFORE they dismiss the ideas I talk about and provide links to.

When you understand the basics of the way inflammation (or the inflammatory response) is creating the pain, then you will better understand how it is that building up your arsenal of anti-inflammatory reserves can, over time, reduce the amount of pain you experience.

If you approach any medical intervention with the expectation that it will be a waste of time and probably a waste of money you are doomed from the start and may as well not bother because that very negativity will have added to your inflammatory status and will itself be abolishing the potential for optimum results.

I know improving my anti-inflammatory status has reduced my pain levels such that I am only aware of pain when I've not paced my activities and done too much. But because I know I'm basically in control of that situation I'm absolutely confident that if I keep on doing what I've been doing the pain will decrease.

If you start with negative thoughts you will end up with negative results.

*Controlling Urinary...

I though it may be an idea to copy a series of posts from another forum to this site as it may be relevant to readers here.
Controlling Urinary Tract Infections.
I mentioned on another thread how I no longer get UTI infections although I have to self catheterise every time I need to pee.
I don't have to explain to people how tiring, stressful and debilitating having repeat UTI's can be. For those who aren't aware if you continually insert a foreign body into a part of your body that is supposed to be sterile you introduce bacteria and the more you rely on anti biotics to reduce the infections they cause the sooner you find you have become resistant to most antibiotics and it ends up with regular testing (buy 10 parameter strips off EBAY @ £10 if your doc won't give you a pot) and sending samples to the lab whenever there's a sign of things getting out of control.
But having used the long term low dose, and high dose long term routes I was faced with having to go into hospital to deal with the resistant e coli that only ONE antibiotic was known to help.
Not a comfortable thought that if I became resistant to that one I'd have no way left.

I therefore put my mind to how to beat the problem as source.
I think the first move was the change of catheter to Hollister advance

You can see the protective tip that bypasses the first 15mm of the distal urethra, where the majority of bacteria are present. Hollister offer the same home delivery service (in the UK) but I like to support my local doctors pharmacy so I get a bulk prescription every 3 months delivered from my surgery/dispensary.

However that didn't totally solve the problem and as I was increasing my vitamin D status anyway because of this
Antimicrobial Peptides, Innate Immunity, and the Normally Sterile Urinary Tract I found that also reduced UTI incidence. Knowing what I know now I should have started with 10,000iu daily D3 for up to 3yrs to get 25(OH)D above 60ng/ml 150nmol/l but back then I didn't really believe how safe vitamin D really is so it took longer than it should have done to get a vitamin D status that allowed vitamin D to be stored in cells rather than just circulating in plasma.

But I was still getting UTI's from time to time.
Cloudy smelly pee and feeling run down all the time is no fun so I had to do more.
Curcumin, green Tea and resveratrol supplements daily in conjunction with eating home made full fat yoghurt daily have now solved the problem and touch wood I've now managed to keep UTI free for well over a year.
I've got to go out now but I'll add in links to the science showing Curcumin, Resvertatrol, Green Tea inhibit pathogenic bacteria later.

I drink green tea as my main beverage and as a major weapon against e coli.
Bonnie Bassler on how bacteria "talk"

decreased transcriptional level in many quorum sensing-regulated virulence genes at 25 microg/ml. Our results suggest that EGCG at concentrations below itsMIC has significant antipathogenic effects against E. coli
What green tea is doing is knocking out the ability of E coli to communicate with other E coli to organise an infection.
It works in other ways as well as it's anti inflammatory also.

About Green Tea This site explains how to make GREEN TEA. There are some differences that make a better (lower caffiene) pot of green tea. Remember although it is more expensive you can, because you are brewing for less time, reuse those same tea leaves and so you get more cups per teaspoon of leaves. I brew my first cup in bed, and refresh those leaves 2 or 3 times through the day. I sometimes add a herbal teabag for the last brew of the day (Hibiscus is quite good)

Curcumin works in a different way to Green tea and Vitamin D. It has been found that curcumin, the main bioactive component of Curcuma longa, inhibits Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli growth by inhibiting FtsZ assembly. So adding this to the other strategies helps attack the E Coli bacteria through a different approach. I take a 500mg capsule night and morning as I think it has other benefits, (cancer, iron chelation, anti oxidant etc) as well is it's action on E Coli.

Although Resveratrol (from red wine and supplement) works in conjunction with curcumin it also works in other ways as well.
So in combination curcumin and resveratrol work better than when used separately. If people are worried about the risk of Alzheimer's then it's good to understand how it works in conjunction with melatonin.

Melatonin itself is a useful supplement for people with UTI because UTI's often increase frequency and this may mean they are getting disrupted sleep having to pee in the night. Melatonin use and improved sleep hygiene/circadian rhythm does help lower excess nocturnal urine production and increases bladder capacity.
Don't forget that Bright light exposure during the day and Subdued light in the evening and dark bedrooms at night help increase natural secretion of melatonin though as we age that declines so increasing supplemental melatonin to enhance immune function as you get older isn't a bad idea.

Mild dehydration: a risk factor of urinary tract infection? makes the point that Nevertheless, adequate hydration is important and may improve the results of antimicrobial therapy in UTI .....The combination of the behaviourally determined aspects of host defence and not simply increasing fluid intake is important in therapy and prophylaxis of UTI.

This supports my suggestions that we must also try to understand how we can improve natural anti microbial action and improve our host defences. Drinking GREEN TEA as part of your water rehydration program reduces inflammation, attacks pathogenic bacteria and although an acquired taste is very pleasant to drink. One of the reasons it's an acquired taste (something that takes more than a week or so to get used to, is the very fact it causes bacteria die off so your body initially has to get rid of (detoxify) itself from those dead bacteria cells this may make some people nauseous during drinking their first fews days of drinking Green Tea.

One way of making hydration more enjoyable and with the added bonus of improving your immune status by correcting magnesium deficiency is the use of this home made [PDF] Recipe for Magnesium/Bicarbonate Water It just requires a SODA STREAM to produce fizzy water to change the magnesium hydroxide into magnesium bicarbonate, this is a more easily absorbed form of magnesium as magnesium oxide and hydroxide stay in the digestive system, absorb water/nutrients from the digestive system, turn solid stools into loose runny stools and work as effective laxatives. Drinking magnesium bicarbonate fizzy water doesn't have a laxative effect. I drink a couple of litres daily along with my green tea consumption.

Treatment with Potassium Bicarbonate Lowers Calcium Excretion and Bone Resorption in Older Men and Women
This paper explains how improving the acid/alkaline balance of urine reduces the excretion of calcium.
Our body needs to keep calcium locked in our bones and not circulating in our blood (where it causes stroke) Magnesium counterbalances the actions of calcium and when you increase your Vitamin D status, this enables a higher calcium absorption from the diet. Most people don't need to take calcium supplements as there are plenty of good food sources of calcium. At most 600mg/daily supplemental calcium should be used but even then it's not ideal as the body uses food derived calcium much better than supplement derived calcium.
Because magnesium is used to counterbalance the actions of calcium but is not so readily available in the diet it's important to try to increase your magnesium intake using the readily absorbed forms afibbers magnesium guide

Krispin's magnesium information

Influence of the consumption pattern of magnesium from magnesium-rich mineral water on magnesium bioavailability
It is generally considered that the absorption of Mg is inversely related to the ingested dose.
The objective of the present study was to determine if the mode of administration (bolus v. consumption throughout the day) could influence Mg bioavailability from Mg-rich natural mineral water comparing the same nutritional Mg amount (126 mg).
Using a 2 d cross-over design, twelve healthy men were asked to drink 1·5 litres Mg-rich mineral water either as 2 Χ 750 ml or 7 Χ 212 ml throughout the day. Two stable isotopes (25Mg and 26Mg) were used to label the water in order to distinguish both regimens.
Fractional apparent Mg absorption was determined by faecal monitoring and Mg retention was determined by measuring urinary excretion of Mg isotopes.
Higher Mg absorption (50·7 (sd 12·7) v. 32·4 (sd 8·1) %; P = 0·0007) and retention (47·5 (sd 12·9) v. 29·0 (sd 7·5) %; P = 0·0008) from Mg-rich mineral water were observed when it was consumed in seven servings compared with larger servings.
Thus, regular water consumption throughout the day is an effective way to increase Mg bioavailability from Mg-rich mineral water.

If you do acquire some test strips you may find as I did that the urine is a bit too acid.
That was when I investigated the magnesium bicarbonate water idea. I found it nicely brought my acid/alkaline levels to ideal as previously it was always as acid as the test strips could measure.
Alzheimer's disease is a devastating disease whose recent increase in incidence rates has broad implications
for rising health care costs.
Huge amounts of research money are currently being invested in seeking the
underlying cause, with corresponding progress in understanding the disease progression.
In this paper, we highlight how an excess of dietary carbohydrates, particularly fructose, alongside a relative deficiency in dietary fats and cholesterol, may lead to the development of Alzheimer's disease.
A first step in the pathophysiology of the disease is represented by advanced glycation end-products in crucial plasma proteins concerned with fat, cholesterol, and oxygen transport.

This leads to cholesterol deficiency in neurons, which significantly impairs their ability to function.
Over time, a cascade response leads to impaired glutamate signaling, increased oxidative damage, mitochondrial and lysosomal dysfunction, increased risk to microbial infection, and, ultimately, apoptosis.
Other neurodegenerative diseases share many properties with Alzheimer's disease, and may also be due in large part to this same underlying cause

 Learning points
1. The amyloid-β present in Alzheimer's plaque may not be causal, since drug induced suppression of its synthesis led to further cognitive decline in the controlled studies performed so far.

2• Researchers have identified mitochondrial dysfunction and brain insulin resistance as early indicators of Alzheimer's disease.

3• ApoE-4 is a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease, and ApoE is involved in the transport of cholesterol and fats, which are essential for signal transduction and protection from oxidative damage.

4• The cerebrospinal fluid of Alzheimer's brains is deficient in fats and cholesterol.

5• Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) are present in significant amounts in Alzheimer's brains.

6• Fructose, an increasingly pervasive sweetening agent, is ten times as reactive as glucose in inducing AGEs.

7• Astrocytes play an important role in providing fat and cholesterol to neurons.

8• Glycation damage interferes with the LDL-mediated delivery of fats and cholesterol to astrocytes, and therefore, indirectly, to neurons.

9• ApoE induces synthesis of Aβ when lipid supply is deficient.

10• Aβ redirects neuron metabolism towards other substrates besides glucose, by interfering with glucose and oxygen supply and increasing bioavailability of lactate and ketone bodies.

11• Synthesis of the neurotransmitter, glutamate, is increased when cholesterol is deficient, and glutamate is a potent oxidizing agent.

12• Over time, neurons become severely damaged due to chronic exposure to glucose and oxidizing agents, and are programmed for apoptosis due to highly impaired function.

13• Once sufficiently many neurons are destroyed, cognitive decline is manifested.

14• Simple dietary modification, towards fewer highly-processed carbohydrates and relatively more fats and cholesterol, is likely a protective measure against Alzheimer's disease.

I've added the numbers so I can comment on them.

Re 1 ~ We need to learn a lot more about Protein folding and if you want to help this research you can by downloading the computer program Folding home Whenever your PC is left on it works on this research project quietly in the background. My PC has completed 349 projects for them and I don't notice it working in the background and it's easy to pause if you want to play a game that requires 100% of you PC computing power.

2.~ Mitochondrial dysfunction is at the root of diabetes, metabolic syndrome and all that flows from these conditions. We can create new fully functional mitochondria by A)Exercise even modest exercise will help. B)Intermittent Fasting this does not have to mean a 24hr fast, Not eating between meals. Having just 2 meals a day, eating those 2 meals within 5hrs so there is 19hrs without any food. (gives a chance for fat burning) C) A Ketogenic diet. Less carbohrate more fat particularly coconut oil and Medium Chain Triglyceride oil. These are used as a substitute for glucose and metabolised straight away rather than being stored.

3.~ Apolipoprotein E4: A causative factor and therapeutic target in neuropathology, including Alzheimer’s disease this full text paper will help you better understand the role of ApoE4.

4~ So we need more fats of the type that are known to be used in the brain, hence Coconut Oil, MCT, Butter (pasture fed higher omega 3) more OMEGA 3 fish oil less or no industrial seed oils like such as corn, soybean, safflower, sunflower and cottonseed oil and any commerially prepared food made using those pro inflammatory omega 6 oils.

5~ AGE's are the brown parts when foods are roasted/fried grilled and beginning to burn. Fewer roasts/barbeques/grills and more soups, stews and casseroles. Don't fry your bacon to a crisp. It's fine if it'slightly underdone. Liver tastes best if pink in the middle IMO.

6~ We shouldn't add HFCS to anything let alone baked items. This is particularly so when you buy baked items. It's just amazing where you find HFCS, corn syrup these days.

7~ For every brain neuron we have 10 times more astrocytes. Apart from providing ketones to keep neurones from starving should glucose sources get low, they also regulate blood flow through the brain. It's probably disruption of brain blood flow that's oinvolved in MS. To keep astrocytes healthy they need feeding. Fat and cholesterol, bacon and eggs for breakfast fried in coconut oil. My choice for healthy astrocytes with a tsp of omega 3 fish oil.

8~ I think most people are now aware the curcum, resveratrol, phenols, and flavanoids inhibit Glycation damage.

9 ~ Do low fat diets increase Alzheimer's incidence?

11 ~ Hence need for plenty of anti oxidants in brain, Omega 3, Vitamin D, magnesium etc.

12 ~ Cut down on sugar and fructose sources.

13~ People with higher 25(OH)D levels have better cognitive function.

Thought it may be worth having this on my blog as I want to develop a section on how best to prevent Alzheimer's and collecting all the information together is a series of blogs would probably be useful.
