I think I saw something about this on a PBS Channel last night; an interview
w/the same Dr Wakefield. Not surprised about PBS but am sorta surprised
about NBC what with Big Pharma sponsorships, etc.
I definitely plan to watch as well as alert my 2 daughters with small children.

I have been aware of the suspicion of vaccines and learning disabilities in children for some time. There is a great deal of people that think they are related. So I'm not surprised at all to see NBC airing a story about it, not a bit.

Even Canadian health care is controled by "Big Pharma". And I think it`s long past time due for folks to stand up, pay attention and be proactive about their health. Instead of following the usual herd and numbly taking pills from doctors who pad their pockets with monetary hand outs from pharmaceutical companies.

New here. Saw this come up as a blog. Thought I would share. My 7yr old boy has autism. Let me rephrase that...he has "regressive autism". What that means is that he was developing perfectly normally and hitting all his milestones until he received the MMR. He lost his words, his eye contact, responding to his name, doing imaginary play, I couldn't take him in the mall/stores anymore, he would hide behind play equiptment from other children. We did biomed (like Jenny McCarthy) from the start. This child had 4 yrs of chronic dierrhea to the point that he was loosing weight. What was coming out was also undigested food. We starting taking him to The Thoughtful House (Dr. Wakefield's clinic) in TX and after 3 mos. of treatment (GI anti-inflamitory) he then for the 1st time in his life had normal formed stools. In less than 2yr he gained a little more than 10lbs. These doctors (Wakefield, Krigsman & Jepson) have done wonders for my little boy and our family. We were finally able to BM potty train him. I don't care how many studies the mainstream medical community put out. Many of them have blood on their hands to start. CDC, Pharm. Co,...These doctor's careers have suffered terribly. Dr. Wakefield was on trial this past year. He is a Maverick and and hero to many more families out there like mine. I have all the scienticfic proof I need. I am doing a hella of a lot less laundry! Keep in mind if you watch Dateline, that they had to be rough on this story because they have Pharm co. (I saw Gardasil) running commercials. This is the first time since 1998 that he has addressed the media. NBC was finally able to give the clinic the media coverage they wanted. The sincher for them was Matt Lauer.

He lost language, eye contact, responding to his name and I couldn't take him to stores/mall any longer. This was also when the dierhea started and he had it for 4 yrs to the point that he was loosing weight. What was coming out was undigested food. We started taking him to Dr. Wakefield's clinic, The Thoughtful House in TX. In 3 mos. these doctors got him to normal formed, brown stools. In less than 2yrs he gained more than 10lbs. He is now bowel movement toilet trained. I've seen the pictures of his scopes and seen the lyphonodual hyperplasia (immune reaction to virus) in his GI tract. So many families are told that this is part of autism. It is not part of the diagnosis and there is treatment. Many of these children are in severe GI pain and can't even express it due to lack of language. There are many more families out there with these type of success stories. These doctors are Mavericks and heros in our community. They are going up against the CDC and big pharm. cos. This is the same clinic that Jenny McCarthy took her son to. This is where he doctor (Jerry Kartzinel) started. Keep in mind if you watch this, that NBC had to be rough on him because they have pharm. co. (I saw a Gardasil commercial) paying for airtime. This is the 1st time since 1998 that he has addressed the media on this issue. It was only now that they were able to give him the coverage he wanted. The sincher (the clinic says) was Matt Lauer.

I watched the program last night on NBC. Such a shame that
Dr Wakefield and his research, etc was so denigrated publicly
on TV. I don't trust vaccines either and hope that program
will open people's eyes to what harm multiple vaccines together
can do to precious youngsters all over the world.
My heart goes out to you Shelly and others like you and your
autistic son. Let's hope that he continues to improve.
