Hi
I wouldn't go with anything that you get from Wikipedia as its not peer reviewed and anyone can post anything, whether its right or not.
I presume you're in the US?? I'm from the UK and here we have registered Herbalists which I swear by. A monitored profession where they know what they're talking about. Although herbs are "natural" they can be dangerous and going to someone who knows what they're talking about can help you work out whats best for you.
Also, by far the best treatment I found for my migraines was chiropractic. Got rid of mine with no trouble, you can then co-inside the two, herbalism and chirorpactic - match made in heaven!!!

Ain't that the truth about Wikipedia. I posted a ton of references for the use of ozone in medicine, from journals, etc, research papers and it was all removed. All that remained was BS. But Wiki can lead you to different sources and give good ideas for further research. Much of it is referenced and footnoted. It is not the end all by any means.

I use heel homeopathic combo remedies for headaches, and it works well, if the headache is vascular in origin or from poor alignment it will alleviate the pain. Geksemium Homaccord for headaches that start at the occiput.
Spigleon for headaches over the eyes and brow.
You can purchase them at iHerb.com - Vitamins, Supplements & Natural Health Products
I never use anything else anymore and I have helped some folks cure of
serious chronic migraine with these remedies.

im lost, have no idea
My Ex hubby use to get migraines all the time... The doctor said it just happens... had nothing to offer except pain pills..... I had read about feverfew and suggested it.. He tried it, and the migraines went away. So, I am not giving info that I found on wiki.... I am giving first hand account... the ex got rid of his migraines...the daughter in law got rid of her migraines.... a close friend of mine got rid of her migraines using feverfew....Herbs are awesome, as long as they are used responsibly!!!

well said! i think theres a common misconception that if its natural then its good for you but they can be dangerous. I don't know what the laws are like in the US but here in the UK you can walk into any shop and buy what ever you like in any combination! (it is soon to change and you will only be able to buy herbs from trained, registered herbalists) anyway!!! check you're ok on it if you're on any other meds (herbal or otherwise);)

Why so surprised that you are free to buy herbs??? If they are so dangerous and there is a problem, where is all the news about people sickened or killed from herbs? Drugs have many bad side effects; herbs practically none.
Why force people to have to pay an herbalist to give them a prescription? Up goes the cost. More jobs for herbalists. So you just grow your own. That's why you can't regulate them. Herbs are slow acting and safe. I don't think you see people randomly trying out herbs anyway. They usually do some research on it, which is now very easy to do.

Yup. more control for the UK. They are really turning into a socialist debauch, soon to border on fascism. Bunch of mindless dam governmental do gooders.

Better start growing your own. I'm posting an herbal cancer cure on the cancer thread today. Its got comfrey in it. Illegal to sell in the US except in a few products. Grows like crazy though! You have to purchase the roots via underground trade these days.

I would love to see some more information on this, do you have a source?

on the mindless dogooders or do you mean on comfrey?

Regarding comfrey, I don't have a source, just common knowledge for a while now. Here is an article on what happened to one company. FTC Focuses on Comfrey Products Promoted via Internet

Hey! in South Africa Too! Canada as well.

https://www.search.gov.za/info/previewDocument.jsp?dk=/data/static/info/speeches/2008/08070210151003.htm@Gov&q=<phrase>+(Issued+by:+Department+of+Health)+<AND>+(+<NOT>+(+Provincial,Government+)+)+<AND>(+Category<matches>s+)&t=Health+on+warning+against+Comfrey+herbal+plant

Allointoin, an extract taken from comfrey used in many cosmetic products, I think is still permitted. Comfrey topically, in general may still be permitted, I'm not sure.

I don't miss comfrey much. I have found the homeopathic preparation for treating fractures to be the best, and it is legal. Nothing takes pain out of a broken bone like symphytum 200c Homeopathic.
