Default Statin Drugs & Liver Disease Question

Hello,

I am 46 years old and have hyperchloresterol. My doctor wants to put me on Statin drugs to lower this. Currently I am taking Red Yeast Rice but I was wondering, if I take the Statin drugs can I lower the risk of liver trauma from the Statins by eating onions and other liver health improving veggies?

Thanks

Red Yeast Rice is basically mevacor. Still a statin. If you feel you need a statin, take coenzyme Q daily (30 mg min). I would avoid statins at all costs

My bad choleterol is 250 and the good is 30. Everyone in my family has high cholesterol. I am 6'3 and weigh 190 exercise daily.

I dont smoke. I dont eat fried foods. I do eat a lot of leafy greens & fruits yet everything seems to create bad cholsterol in my body.

What can I do to greatly lower my cholesterol and reduce the rist of heart attack?

Default dangerous statins

Read the material at THINCS (The International Network of Cholesterol Skeptics) www.thincs.org and you will probably agree that statins are a worldclass scam. Cholesterol is the good guy, statins are dangerous. The best book I have read so far on this topic is "Fats and Cholesterol Are Good For You" by Dr. Uffe Ravnskov, MD PhD. Statins have the effect of making you age far too fast. At 71 I had a lot of the side effects that are so common using Lipitor including muscle weakness, cold feet and reduced energy. I flushed the pills down the toilet and I am gradually coming back to my usual good health. My cholesterol level has come up some, but I am treating it as normal for me. I am ignoring it. I've switched from skim to whole, laying off the processed carbs and sugar, and enjoying eggs, butter and meats again. Read all you can about statins to ensure you understand just how bad they are for you, and how bad it is to be attacking such an important fat as cholesterol.

Inflammation is more likely to be the reason that arteries plug up. When you look at the actual properties of Statin Drugs, you will find that they have anti-inflammmatory properties. This part is fine, and probably why they can work, but you can get the same benefits using anti-inflammatory supplements, and eliminate the side effects of Statin Drugs. Turmeric, Ginger, Resveritrol , and Krill oil are all good anti-oxidents and will also help Cholesterol ratios.

Cholesterol is not the problem, it is chronic low grade inflammation. This damages the wall of the arteries and cholesterol is there to repair the damage. If you prevent the damage by knocking out the inflammation, the cholesterol does not really matter much, because it is not going to be used to repair damage.

Some of the oldest living people have high cholesterol.

Dammit! I was just going to post that with the exception of statins being antiinflamatory.!
