Very creative mad scientist. Did you put LED lights in your dog too? You obviously love light! Were kinda strange here. Didn't purchase our first lamp until we had been married 18 years! And health junkie, my peonies are in bloom today. I cut them all and brought them into the house as they are growing in a bramble and cannot be appreciated. I love spring and its wild wetness.

So, I make jewelry and have been doing so for about 2 years. I'm not a great silversmith or anything, just a bead stringer, the lowest form of craftsmenship in jewelry. I take other peoples good stuff and arrange it nice.

I set up a little shop on etsy a couple of weeks ago. I will not keep it up as I am not motivated to do what it takes there. I do have some lighting issues with photography and the photos don't do justice.

Mostly I sell at work, once in a while at the park and then at the local car wash, yes! Car Wash! Kind of a fancy place. Gourmet coffee etc. They have a large waiting room with lots of display area.

So you can go here to see some of what I have made.

Where is it written that something must be hi-tech to have value? Personally I like things plain and simple and what you have there looks good to me. It is your arrangement that gives it value.

And speaking of lamps here is my latest creation.

Patio lamps, well in this case garden lamps. Four lantern style hanging lamps. 12 LEDs in a plastic housing with red trim. Also some red LEDs in the top for a little color at night.

I forgot all about this thread, until I ran across it today.... I think it should be made into a forum or a sticky or something, so we dont lose it.

We have been busy these past few months with birthdays... I make the birthday cakes.... Normally not so outrageous as these, but some birthdays need to be celebrated more then others.... My oldest granddaughter turned 13 this past week... Her aunts and I gave her a ball... with the elegant fancy dresses and all.... the lady who was suppose to make the cake backed out at the last minute, so I made the cake instead.... not bad for last minute notice if I do say so myself..... now lets see if I can download these the right way

My grandson turned one this month too, as terrible as it sounds, since he has the deformities in his arms/hands, we call him our little T-rex.. so naturally, he had to have a dinosaur cake or two.

another granddaughter turned 7, she is a highschool musical fanatic, so we had to use dolls from that show.

My youngest son turned 25 this year... when I first started looking for the firetrucks and police cars, I went to ebay and bought these collectors items so his cake ended up being bigger and more fun then we ever imagined... half the cake was a fire scene, where we had a house on fire and the firemen and fire engines were at the scene, the other half of the cake was a swat team cake, where a bunch of swat team guys and police cars were raiding the other house.... cant tell by the pictures, but on one of the corners of the cake we even had a lady of the evening... oh, had to add a donut just to poke fun at them all.

COOL! Only problem I see is that you would not want to destroy them by eating them.

Default Christmas project

Twis about two weeks before Christmas and I was informed that youngest son would like me to make a cabinet to hold his new giant screen TV and speakers.

Measured TV & speakers, determined where it is to be placed and how much space he has, designed cabinet, bought a couple sheets of Birch plywood and some mahogany for trim and started cutting.

With three days to go I just finished it. This is what I came up with.

I will let friend wife figure out how to wrap it.

It looks very nice, MS. What's your profession?

Can you make a time machine for me?

Thank you.
I’m self-employed,” technically” retired; however the people I work with don’t realize that and keep asking me to solve their problems.
Basically I design and build stuff and things for people who do not know how to design or build their own stuff and things. Typically I get evolved in building prototype models and/or assembly and text fixture for companies that assemble printed circuit boards.

A recent project I helped a guy with was the designing of a “powered” toilet seat. This was aimed at individuals who have had hip or knee replacement surgery and need help to stand up. By pressing a switch a motor rises the seat and them to a standing position.

Not to sure about the time machine, but it would be a cool way to check out some conspiracy theories.

MS, that sounds very sophisticated, I'm very impressed.

I can only do something like changing a light bulb. I wish you were my neighbor.
