Never. I had the flu last yr and I was at the local watering hole and 2 people became sick a couple days before I did. Then I got it. Stayed in bed for 2 days except to go to the bathroom. All I ingested was vit C, chicken broth and green tea and kept my bedroom quite warm with an auxillary radiator. A week later I talked to one lady who was sick a couple days before I was and she went to the doctor and was swabbed. She tested positive for H1N1.
All members, I don't know about vaccination regulations (promotions) in other countries, but if there are differences to note, I hope members will add a comment with a post.
I only remember having the flu a couple of times in my life. It was never too bad...fever, chills, weakness, nausea, aches, etc. It didn't last more than a few days, and like saved1986, I would just hunker down and treat myself with soups, teas, supplements and juices.
After all we have read about flu shots over the last year or so you need one more category in the poll:
Me get a flu shot? You got to be kidding! Right?
Around here I have noted a slight change in advertising. There does not seem to be as much coming from the MSM screaming that everyone should rush out and get shot. Yet many supermarket/drugstore chains have bunches of signs outside inviting you to come in and conveniently get your flu shot today as you are buying a dozen eggs or whatever.
Also at a local supermarket I noticed that they had a special deal on a whole list of other vaccines that you might what to add on to get their special package deal.

I agree Mad Scientest, LOL! Lots of people are getting them because they're 'recommended' and they don't even want to hear about reasons not to.
I was at Walmart this afternoon, and they had a big table set up, and a gal in a white coat was giving out flu shots, not sure of her title. Also, at the local supermarkets, it seems like they're constantly announcing their special combo flu shot deals over the intercom.
It says I already voted....I sure don't remember doing it! My memory isn't so good these days, but I think I would have remembered that. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.
Hmmm....maybe it was just letting me know that I shouldn't vote "again".
When we were living in the UK, and I was cooking professionally, it was a company requirement - is it also required in the US if you're in a food-related, public serving environment?

No apology needed nightowl. Your vote is registered under 'no, never'. If you click on the number of votes in the column, you'll see your name.
I hope you're feeling better, with all you're going through, it's easy to space things out now and then. I'm healthy and I do it too sometimes, lol.

I don't think it is for food related jobs. I used to work in a beverage production plant, and we were never asked to get a flu shot, of course we didn't actually 'serve' the public. As far as the medical profession, I believe it's mandatory for doctors, etc.
Apparently its not mandatory down here.... whenever we were at the hospital last year, a nurse would ask us if we have had it, or if we wanted it.... I would first ask them if they got it, and every single one of them said no..... so my comment was, that says alot....no we dont want it!
