Listening to tunes you can't stand could, adversely affect your exercise performance, say University of Maryland researchers.
They found that the blood vessels of people who were subjected to songs they didn't like constricted by 6% in just 30 minutes - this reduces blood flow to muscles, affecting general performance and endurance.
On the flip side, listening to their personal favourites expanded blood vessels by 26%

Definitely no 'heavy metal' or 'rap' during my workouts, for sure!

I am pretty good about fantasizing/daydreaming while on the treadmill or stairmachine.

Thats probably why the wretched music thats played every year at the Glastonbury Festival makes me cringe.
