Default Modern Health Care

Two patients limp into two differerent medical offices
with the same complaint. Both are having trouble
walking and appear to require hip replacements.

The first patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed
on site the same day and has a convenient time booked
for surgery, the following week.

The second patient sees his family doctor, after waiting
three days for an appointment, then has to wait an
additional eight days to see a specialist. He then receives
a doctor's order for an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for
another two days, and finally has his surgery scheduled,
inconvient for him, in another month.

Why the different treatment for these two patients?

The first is a Golden Retriever. The second is a Senior Citizen!

Why the different treatment for these two patients?

It is obvious we all know our medicinal system is for the dogs.

Here are a few quotes from an Associated Press article in todays paper that seem to prove it.

Medication mistakes injure well over 1.5 million Americans every year.

on average, a hospitalized patient is subject to at least one medication error per day.

theres too little incentive for health providers to invest in technology that could prevent some errors today

were paid whether these errors occur or not.

Looks like it might be safer if you are a golden retriever.

Yes, pet therapy can be very effective. We use it where I work all the time.
