Default Urine pH

I just read an article on urine alkalosis, it states that a urine pH of above 6 is bad, and irritates the tissue of the bladder and is a good environment for bacteria.

I am intentionally alkalizing urine! I thought the opposite is true, and that urine should test between 7 and 7.5... I have been very successful by the way, I use chlorrela (watermelon does wonders too)..

So what is the verdict? should urine be a little acidic or alkaline?

Thanks

Josy

Default Urine ph

I don't often take my ph anymore, Josy, because I tend to
naturally be more acidic. However, i do continue to try to
eat more alkalizing type foods.

I had thought that between 7 and 7.5 was the desired level too.

I read recently that your body is supposed to be
alkalai, acid, alkalai. Your mouth should be high PH,
your stomach should be low PH and your urine/bowel
should be high PH.

Can't remember where I read it, or I'd cite it.

Thank you for your responses, I also know it has to be alkline, acid, alkaline.. actually my doctor had told me that some time ago, so when I read this article I got confused...

The only thing that makes sense is the bacteria growing in alkaline environment part, I know for a fact that viruses can't survive in alkaline environment but I think it is the reverse with bacteria... cranberries are very acidic for instance... well I'll get to the bottom of this, some more research is needed.

Thanks,

Josy

I might have learned the answer to my own question the hard way, I don't remember the last time my urine culture came positive, and I was always acidic... the two weeks I raised my pH level to 7.5, I got the worst UTI of my lifetime! Then I researched some more, and found out the optimum pH level should be 6.8.. so alkalizing like crazy is not the answer I guess...
