The Ultimate Anti-Aging Therapy
November 24, 2006

MODERN MEDICINE will unravel the mysteries of life, including degeneration and aging. One of the latest developments is stem cell therapy, a medical breakthrough that is now availabe in Asia.

Staying young

Your body is in a constant state of renewal. As you read this, the change happens in your system. Cells are born, regenerate and renew within the human body.

Scientists have believed for quite some time now that the cells you were born with are not the same ones you have when you die.

So, if the natural process of the body is to remake itself, why do we age? This is a question that a stem cell biologists at Karolinska Institute in Sweden are trying to answer (Readers Digest, August 2006, How Old Are You?Helen Signy).

It is suspected that stem cells age and their supply is exhausted. What happens if supply is replenished? Enter stem cell therapy.

Fountain of* Youth

Stem cells are the basic building blocks of life from which our bodies are made. They are formed at conception and become the different tissues of our body: muscles, nerve, organs, bone, blood, etc.

The body has a stem cell reserve that can be tapped for repair and replacement of injured tissue. But the reserve is finite and becomes depleted. The regenerative power of the body decreases and we succumb to disease and aging.

Sources of stem cells: bone marrow, peripheral blood and fat. The Russians were the first to collect stem cells from non-bone marrow sources (i.e. aborted fetuses) but the procedure raised ethical issues.

Today, because the bone marrow process of harvesting stem cells takes too long (about five days), there is a new approach that is easier, non-controversial but just as effectiveAutologous Stem Cell Transplant.

It was introduced in Manila by a reputable senior plastic surgeon and a respec ted member of the medical community, Dr. Florencio Lucero and Dr. Bill Paspaliaris, CEO of Stemtech Ltd. HKG and an expert in regenerative medicine.

How does it work?

Through a mini-liposuction, 100cc of fat and peripheral blood are extracted from the body. The harvested dormant stem cells are incubated in stimulating growth factors derived from colostrums (the first liquid secretion of milk-producing organic cows in New Zealand).

Once the 50 million stem cells are stimulated, these are isolated and infused back into the patient intravenously. The procedure lasts four hours in the operating room of a hospital under local anesthesia. It includes one hour of harvesting of stem cells and three hours to incubate, stimulate and infuse them back to the patient.

Are there moral/religious issued involved? None whatsoever. The stem cells come from the individual and are returned to him/her.

What health issues can the procedure address?
Patients who availed of the therapy had health conditions like diabetes, Alzheimers, arthritis, spinal cord injuries, cancer and Parkinsons disease.

Results have been encouraging, if not amazing, as in the case of an 80-year-old who has fewer tremors from Parkinsons and now goes ballroom dancing. High-profile businessmen, politicians and health enthusiasts who underwent the treatment now have more energy, think clearly and faster, and have increased libido and more youthful look.

But while more extensive clinical studies have yet to be done, the dynamic duo of Lucero and Paspaliaris is setting a new medical breakthrough in the country.

Since the therapy is more reasonably priced here than elsewhere in the world, foreign patients are now coming here to avail of the procedure.

I chose to make Manila my headquarters because of its strategic location, ideal for medical tourism, said Dr. Bill who was in Manila b efore for a World Health Organization project. Filipino doctors are (also) among the finest in the world.

Work with the French Foreign Legion in Angola and Congo allowed him to do a specific study of stem cell therapy to ease pain and hasten wound-healing. They observed faster recovery and anti-aging results.
Reverse your age
How far back can the clock go for stem cell patients? Ideally five to 10 years. And if, as Dr. Maffetone says in his book In Fitness and In Health (Fully Booked Store), people improve the quality of their lives through healthy choices, the average human life expectancy can reach 120.

While most people want to age gracefully, others wish to improve the quality of their lives despite a health challenge. Still there are those, like myself, who are intrigued by the challenge of defying time.

Your affirmation: I am as young as I want to be.

For informationon how this revolutionary stem cell therapy can be obtained you must contact Young Again* at [email protected] and fullarticulars will be sent to you. You can bet this is not available in the USA.

Default No need to get stem cells from embryos

As I thought, there's no need to get stem cells from embryos. This just adds another "justification" for abortion.

We all have stem cells and there are many sources of stem cells that do not require human embryos (read: aborted fetuses). The trophoblastic thesis of cancer even points to stem cells as the source of cancer if the healing process goes awry.

Click here for an article about the strange phenomenon of pushing for stem cells to be embryonic, which it doesn't have to be.

The Washington Post article cited can be viewed by clicking here.

Yes, they are having quite a bit of success with all diffferent kinds of stem cells, especially from fetal sheep from New Zealand.

I think this embryonic philisophical divide is smoke and mirrors to keep the truth from the general public. If everyone knew the potential of other forms of stem cells there would be public outrage.

BTW, I was told that a close relative of Martin Sheen, the actor, had his prostate cancer cured with stem cell work done in Mexico somewhere. The people who told me were personal friends.

Stemcapture is a new company commercializing a neat device licenses from the University of Rochester. As reported in whats next in health

Associate Professor Michael King of the University of Rochester Biomedical Engineering Department has invented a device that filters the blood for cancer and stem cells. When he captures cancer cells, he kills them. When he captures stem cells, he harvests them for later use in tissue engineering, bone marrow transplants, and other applications that treat human disease and improve health. With Nichola Charles, Jared Kanofsky, and Jane L. Liesveld of the University of Rochester, King wrote about his discoveries in Using Protein-Functionalized Microchannels for Stem Cell Separation, Paper No. ICNMM2006-96228, Proceedings of the ASME, June 2006. Kings team includes scientists at StemCapture, Inc., a Rochester company that bought the University patent for Kings technique in November 2005 to build the cancer-killing and stem cell-harvesting devices. The technique can be used in vivo, meaning a device is inserted in the body, or in vitro, in which case the device resides outside of the body either way, the device kills cancer cells and captures stem cells, which grow into blood cells, bone, cartilage, and fat.

Basically this is a high tech molecular based blood filter. It has great potential for cancer therapeutics.

Read much more about the technology and the research behind it (along with a video of the mechanism) here at the U or R

How the stem cell capture works- Selectins:

When King was working at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2001, one of his labmates discovered that bone marrow stem cells stick to adhesive proteins called selectins more strongly than other cells including blood cells stick to selectins. When King came to the University of Rochester in early 2002, he started studying the adhesion of blood cells to the vascular wall, the inner lining of the blood vessels. During inflammation, the vascular wall presents surface selectins that adhere specifically to white blood cells. These selectins cause the white blood cells to roll slowly along the vascular wall, seeking signals that tell them to crawl out of the bloodstream. This is how white blood cells migrate to bacterial infections and tissue injuries. King set out to find a way to duplicate this natural process.

How the tumor capture works

Another exciting application of Kings invention is filtering the blood for cancer cells and triggering their death, an innovative, new method to prevent the spread of cancer. When someone has a primary cancer tumor, a small number of cancer cells circulates through the bloodstream. In a process called metastasis, these cells are transmitted from the primary tumor to other locations in the body, where they form secondary, cancerous growths.

As a cancer cell flows along the implanted surface, Kings device captures it and delivers an apoptosis signal, a biochemical way of telling the cancer cell to kill itself. Within two days, that cancer cell is dead. Normal cells are left totally unharmed because the device selectively targets cancer cells.

The apoptosis signal is delivered by a molecule called TRAIL that coats the cancer-killing device. Cancer cells have five types of proteins that recognize and bind to TRAIL, but only two trigger cell death. The other three are called decoy receptors. Healthy cells contain a lot of decoy receptors, giving them a natural protection against TRAIL, whereas cancer cells mainly express the two receptors that signal cell death. Click HERE.
