I am looking for information on the purification process that queen ester in the bible went thru. I also would like to find information, on the grooming of a son that is to be a king. I am sure that the children of kings would have to go thru some type of special training, grooming type thing...
Maybe if I can explain, it might help a bit..... I had the pleasure of having my grandchildren this summer, and while we had a great time, I felt like I wasnt able to make a deep enough impact on their lives. I only get to spend a short time with them, so I was trying to figure out how to make the most of our time together.... I am considering having a plan for next year.... something on the lines of a week learning about becoming the princes and princesses of God.. sort of like a bible camp type thing... I want to incorporate manners and good cleansing habits, and good eating habits, along with the tons of fun that we usually have. I know that Ester went thru a purification process, but I dont know how to find it... And surely the kings also would have to go thru purification also... maybe a priestly purification???? The ages of kids that I will be dealing with, (not counting the babies) are from 6 to thirteen. Does anyone have any ideas, or websites that they can direct me to?? Thanks alot, I greatly appreciate all the help ya'll can give me

Just me, it's a good healthy question and very welcome here! I was just wondering how to find the information you are asking for. I think Queen Ester might also be spelled Esther. I will go walkabout to see what's out there.
Thank you Xania, I greatly appreciate the help....
From the text you sent me on the ebible,
Quote:
her purification for twelve months (for so were the days of their purification accomplished, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet fragrances and with preparations for beautifying women).
But above that, it talks that esther was given " her cosmetics and her portions of food"
Can you imagine cleansing yourself for a year (can you imagine being pampered for a year??) I wonder what that twelve months held for her.

It seems to be rather like a super spa treatment - being Persian the massages with the oils would be like a Turkish bath and or sauna with massage with oils while the skin was warm!! - very nice - I can't find yet what the appropriate foods are!!
Esther 2:9 he made haste to give her her massages and her appropriate food, and to give her seven selected young women from the kings house, and he proceeded to transfer her and her young women to the best place of the house of the women.
Esther 2:12 according to the womens regulation for twelve months, for that was the way the days of their massage procedure were gradually fulfilled, six months with oil of myrrh and six months with balsam oil and with the massages of the women
Later - when Esther had to approach the King - she did a 3 day fast herself!
Esther 4:16 Go, gather all the Jews that are to be found in Shushan and fast in my behalf and neither eat nor drink for three days, night and day. I too with my young women, I shall fast likewise,
I'm trying to find out why those two oils were used - Myrrh is a healing oil - but I'm wondering if the effect was some lymphatic drainage?
BTW - her real name is Hadassa - which means Myrtle!!
The preparation for the Princes is more involved - they were very educated - multilingual - numerate as well as taught diplomacy etc.
That's why the sons of noblemen were highly prized by the Babylonians!!
More details coming!

When God was to appear before the Israelites and Moses, purification just involved washing themselves and their clothes (Exo. 19:10), plus a three day abstinence from sex (19:15), but this last one apparently was only from Moses, not from God. AND, they were already following the laws of cleanliness-uncleanliness.
The Israelites under Moses were considered by God as a separate people (from the rest of the world) and had to behave accordingly. There's a list of things which make them "unclean" before God (with some ways to follow to get back into the "clean" state) in the book of Deuteronomy. Newly enthroned kings were supposed to write their own copy of these laws (Deu 17:18-20) and keep reading them during their reign. I would think the book of Deuteronomy would be THE book, devoid of the associated rituals (seen in Leviticus). As future rulers, it would do well for your grandchildren to become familiar with the principles. (And us, too. ) (I find a touching tale about this "king-laws thing" in the second book of Kings, chapters 22 and 23.)
I consider the dietary and hygiene rules to be the best, and I have been following the diet instructions as much as I could since the '70s. But diet is not the only matter that makes us physicallly clean or unclean. There are even rules on which animals we could touch, and avoiding the touching of dead animals. Deuteronomy can be full of surprises for one not familiar with it.
I am looking forward to the postings... this seems like it will be an interesting topic for more then just me. In my mind, I want to teach my grandchildren that they are the children of the Mighty King, the creator of all, and that they should have pride in that. But within that pride, I believe must come dignity (is that the right word?) I dont know if I can say this right... .I want them to stand tall, and straight, knowing that good posture is not only good for you, but makes you look royal. I want them to know that cleanliness is important, not just for the sake of health, but also for the self respect that it brings you.... I want them to realize, that their own self esteem rest on their shoulders, and that they can be whomever they want to be. I want them to understand that God created their bodies to work best on certain foods, and within certain guidelines.. well shoot, I want them to run the race and to run it with the knowledge of who they were created to be... Does that make sense...
But then again, I have learned along time ago, that when God puts something inside my head, that He is wanting to teach me more then what I will ever be able to teach the grandbabies.... So, I will be learning, and becoming more then what I ever thought possible!!!! thank you all for the help... I look forward to learning with you all!!!!

The Ten Commandments, in spite of all the "politically correct" virtual banning of displays of these, may be all that we really need.
People today don't realize it, but we've made gods of virtually everything except the true God. We worship wealth, fame, status, health, entertainment personalities (even shamelessly calling these "idols"), sports, ideas (like evolution), etc.
We all need to realize: what we serve is our god.
Even atheism makes a god out of the idea that there is no god, and proponents have been stamping out religious freedom in America in the guise of being politically correct. The religious fervor of atheists in forcing their religion down our throats is hardly matched at all! (And all because we think atheism is not a religion?)
Our children and grandchildren must be able to see through all these, and we can be a lot of help in their upbringing.
