Taking pain pills will probably kill your liver. Go to your health food store and buy some Omega 3 capsules and start taking them.

I cannot do painkillers either. They put me on a morphine drip in 94 after leg surgery and a few hrs later I told them to take it out.

For physical pain try the following:

2 turmeric extract capsules and a spoonful of fish oil. It helps sometimes (not a lot, but it takes the edge off). Or my personal favorite: Long Island Ice Teas

Chattterbox, in order recommend a pain treatment we need to know the cause of the pain and location as all pain is not the same... it makes a huge difference in what would be recommended in the natural realms.

Meanwhile try splitting that tab in half. That is a pretty hefty dose he gave you for people who are not accustom to pain pills. It has 10 mg of hydrocodone and 325 of tylenol, which is like one standard tylenol. So I would take half of that pill and then take one extra tylenol with it and see if you do better.

Some people can do well with pain relieve on 1/3 or 1/4 of that 10mg tab. I've had many patients over the years that got the pain relief they needed with only 2.5mg of hydrocodone. It just depends on how sensitive your sytem is.

Did he prescribe it every 4 hours or 6? Generally its every four hours... so you could repeat the half dosage in 3 hours if you need it. Never take more than 3000 mg of tylenol in a 24 hour period. By the book it is 4000mg but I think people should keep it lower than that if they can.

Narcotic use is kinda a speciality of mine. It is a major used skill in hospice work. Most people do not want to die in pain, but to have their attention on other things like god and family. so the hospice nurse really needs to hone those administrative skills.. working to keep their patients alert without pain... and a few pain pills once in a while will will not destroy your liver. Our capacity to detox and maintain homeostasis is greater than that unless you have liver disease.

We start off with the easy stuff... like laying down for awhile or sitting in a recliner with legs propped up.. then we go to the heating pad, or an ice pack. The hot tub is my personal favorite (actually I was just given a hottub and cant wait to get it up and running!) EFT works for some things. I dont remember the link, but I believe its in the links forum.... We then go to kava tea or kava oil, which seem to be a muscle relaxer. Works good for back and leg pain... seems to help with my leg cramps when i push too hard. My daughter in law and I use arnica tea, but its not recommended to take unless its in the homeopathic remedy, which we do use, and has helped the grandson as well as the hydrocodone did after his surgury.. We also made some arnica oil that seems to help ease alot of the grandson pains... He hollers for the oil before anything else. This is stuff we use, but like Arrow said, it will depend alot on what kind of pain... Neuropathy pain will be the tuffy!!!!

If the pain is not too intense, you might want to try White Willow Bark, worked well for temporary back pain.

Another case of big pharma screwing shit up. White willow is a natural source of aspirin, but with natural co-factors to go along with it, In other words, it works better than straight aspirin and you need less.

Question PAIN!

I got a mail-out from Home Cure yesterday recommending their SerraPain
product. www.homecure.com On sale this week.
I've never tried this product so can't vouch for how well it works. They do
guarantee satisfaction or your money back. Says it's all natural ingredients.
