Miracle products... THEY LIE!
Well, with all the "miracle products" being sold today telling the consumer about great effects these things can have and bring about to you, it is easy to be misled...
just like Proactive (that acne stuff you see on tv) never really works overnight... Kinoki footpads. Did you know that they are only filled with iron that when it comes in contact with even the littlest amount of salt water (or in this case, sweat) it causes rust? That! That rust is what is really on the footpads. It doesn't really come out of your body. Its just a big old lie to get your money. Really. And isn't rust a common factor in "Lockjaw"? Caveat Emptor. |

There is a lot of false notions out there in the medical products world.
Regarding lock jaw... Rust doesn't have any thing to do with it. Lock Jaw, also known as tetanus is caused by a bacteria that is found with manure or soils that are rich in organic matter. So no, foot pads would not be suspect in tetanus "Tetanus is often associated with rust, especially rusty nails, but this concept is somewhat misleading. Objects that accumulate rust are often found outdoors, or in places that harbour anaerobic bacteria, but the rust itself does not cause tetanus nor does it contain more C. tetani bacteria. The rough surface of rusty metal merely provides a prime habitat for a C. tetani endospore to reside. An endospore is a non-metabolising survival structure that begins to metabolise and cause infection once in an adequate environment. Because C. tetani is an anaerobic bacterium, it and its endospores will thrive in an environment that lacks oxygen. Hence, stepping on a nail (rusty or not) may result in a tetanus infection, as the low-oxygen (anaerobic) environment of a puncture wound provides the bacteria with an ideal breeding ground." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetanus#Epidemiology

Soap on the face does cause problems when used too often. I have told several people who have complexion problems to quite putting soap on their face and it almost always improves the skin. I discovered this by myself, by accident as a teenager.
Occasional use is OK, but not every day. I don't know why, but I suspect the removal of much of the oil and who knows what else from the skin, is not beneficial. It is there for a reason. Dan |
