Hi Nightowl
I understand that Allergebrion is only available in two place. My contact is out of town thru this week, and I'll get more information on the whole protocol on his return. Sorry for the delay. He told me that he was admitted to hospital due to COPD and actually flat-lined in the ambulance on the way there but was revived. The major drama began within a week of his stopping smoking. Paul |

Thanks Arrowwind09. I wasn't aware of that. I do tend to flush easily and can't tollerate much niacin. Maybe I could build up a tollerance gradually.
pkzz, I will look a little harder for the Allergebrion and do appreciate your looking into it for me. nightowl Last edited by nightowl; 01-14-2009 at 12:31 AM. Reason: Did not see pkzz's post on the new page. Note added. |

I think there's enough interest in this site that it warrents adding it to the LINKS topic so I will add it there as "Natural Allopathic Medicine". That way maybe it won't get lost in the shuffle.

Arrowwind09,
It took me a while to find the post, above, where you asked me to let everyone know how my Vitamin D test came out, so I'm sorry for bugging you with the pm last night. The test result done 1-14-09 was 144.0 ng/mL, which is very high. I had been alternating, taking 50,000 IU for two days, 5,000 IU for two days and then back to 50,000 IU again, alternating like that for the past few weeks. I will back down to 5,000 IU for a few days and then see how I do on the current recommended dose of 2,000 IU. Hmmm...I had planned to mention here how my psoriasis did so well on the clobetisol cream that I decided that the light therapy wasn't needed, I stopped the cream several days ago. Then yesterday my hands started getting really dry again and the paper-cuts are starting up again too, and it just occured to me that I was also on the reduced Vitamin D for a few days. Could be that it's unrelated because 5,000 is still a fairly high dose, but it could be that the system requires a higher dose during illness. We'll see. I'm sorry it has taken so long to get this COPD protocol information, but I met the person yesterday and this is what I found out: His primary source of research information is from a piece of software called "hyperhealth". There is a free download available if you Google it, but it does not run on a MAC, so I can't use it. Maybe this is old news for the group here, but I had not heard of it. The things he used for his sister's COPD that he believes are of general applicability to others with the condition were: N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), DHA/EPA, Designer Whey Protein , Quercetin, Bromelin, Resveratrol, and CoQ10. (The previous information contained things that were specific to her particular case, not general tools - sorry if I presented a red herring). I hope this helps. Also -- I have had the opportunity to try out EWOT on a vibration platform. Have been experimenting with it for nearly a week. Very good energizing effect, and if I sit on a stool on the platform, so I can relax and meditate somewhat, I find my breathing really opens up and deepens in a nice way within a couple of minutes. Could be worth looking into. pkzz |

pkzz,
Thank you very much for getting back to me with all that good information! The supplements you mentioned all sound helpful. Some I've taken before and some, like Resveratrol, I still do. I have DHA/EPA and Bromelain on hand but have been lazy about taking them lately. It would be most effective to do the whole protocol at once to get the full effect that your friend did with his sister, I'm sure. I was just putting a list together to order a few other supplements so I will add these. I have read many times of the importance of N-Acetyl Cysteine and Quercetin in respiratory function and for some reason, I always spaced them out when it came to ordering them...this time I won't forget! I did a Google search on the word "Hyperhealth" and several links came up to download it for free. I will try to find one that looks safe. Vitacost sells the software for $35. It's a natural medicine reference manual if I understand right. I have an oxygen concentrator at home but it actually only puts out about 5 liters. When I first heard about EWOT I believe Dr. Rowen, in the newsletter Second Opinion, said that it should be done with 10 liters and a positive re-breather mask...which I didn't have. I've heard since that some do it with less oxygen. I'll have to look that up again. I'm glad you are having success! They are using vibration in many ways now. By what I've written here today it sounds like I'm not doing anything, but actually I've been doing a lot of reading, looking at it from another prospective and planning my strategy on how to get the toxins out of the cells, getting my PH more alkaline with sodium bicarbinate and magnesium...then R-Lipoic Acid should help give me some much needed energy. If I add the things you've suggested I could be a new woman soon! (That could get scarey at my age!) Thank you very much again!! nightowl |
