Question Baloon Kyphoplasty

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this procedure....? In visiting with my chiropractor we were talking how so many people are getting to be quite bent over. She said she felt that a lot of the problem was just poor posture but if the problem was spinal fractures or collapse of the vertebrae that it could be fixed with baloon kyphoplasy. After an afternoon of trimming some dense low shrubs my back has just been bothering me. Laying on my excercise baloon and rolling around brings no relief nor laying flat on the floor. I'm also wondering this.......if a person has a fracture does it eventually heal and the pain go away? A couple of my friends are quite humped over yet they have never complained of having back pain. I'm still taking the supplements for osteoporsis (posted by Arrowwind). What kind of test would tell whether there has been fractures? Well, this is kind of rambling but I'd like to hear your comments!

Fractures can heal but much will depend on age, nutrition and ability to assimilate nutrients. The only way to know if there are fractures is if you have an x-ray.

Body Core stabilitzation and strength training are essential as people get older. There may be more benefit going to a physical therapist as opposed to a chriopractor.

Hug a cat!

In the (August 2002) issue of "Alternatives for the Health-Conscious Individual" by Dr. David Williams, he talks about some interesting research in vibrations. He says that researchers have found that vibrations or energy currents in the range of 20 to 50 Hz stimulates bone growth. The production of the body's natural anti-inflammatory compounds is increased. Joint pain and swelling improves. Bone fractures heal faster, and weakened bones begin to strengthen and rebuild. https://www.geocities.com/missionstmichael/Purring.html
