What would be your protocol or choice for fighting off the common cold...I have no tonsils thanks to modern medicine and my parents and usually catch a cold or two per year, I just got one again after taking a mms bath...could it be the mms awakened a dormant virus in me, I thought I read about cold viruses in the lungs being woke up....but I did go shopping that night so maybe I ran in to someone infected...right now I am using collodial silver and taking some beta glucan, I haven't used the mms much as I don't know how it is with the silver.
Thoughts and help will be appreciated!

You get a cold about a week or so after becomming contaminated, so it is unlikely you picked it up the night you went shopping.
I don't understand "MMS bath"... please explain.
Colloidal silver would shorten the duration of a cold, however, would work best if taken via a nebulizer.
Beta glucan is very good for boosting the immune system. The only problem is that there are many beta glucan supplements, and most are much too big to get into the cells where it is needed and thus are useless. Microlized beta glucan, on the other hand is very beneficial.
My advice is prevent colds by boosting the immune system, and that would include 5000 I.U. of D3 per day along with up to 20,000 mg of C per day in divided doses. I would also include several antioxidants, Co Q10, resveratrol, at least 300 mg per day of magnesium (from citrate) and a few drops of iodine. Also, a good probiotic daily.
If you already have a cold, double up on everything above, and eliminate all forms of sugar for a few days. Sugar "stuns" the immune system for several hours, which is the last thing you need when you're getting sick. I would also drink a couple ounces of colloidal silver per day in divided doses, especially if the throat is sore.

If you're getting colds that frequently, it sounds like your immune system is down.
I reco Vit D3, Magnesium, Lots of Vit C, Zinc, Lots of citris fruits during the day -
oranges, grapefruit, etc. drink plenty of water and rest/sleep. Soups too.
Also, add fresh garlic, 2 to 4 segments daily and lots of onions. These will help you
build up your immune system too.

A mms bath is according to Jim Humble's site is approx. 30 activated drops in a bath where it "can soak" in to your body, his site explains this and the theory, I have done two and it's very soothing and both times I have slept real well after.
Good article, do you know of a good D in the 50,000 iu as the article talks about, I understand there are vitamin D supplements you don't want to take at that level due to the other stuff in it...I have not done enough research on D to figure out what I want to take daily yet.
Thanks!

These are a dry powder filled capsule and I have experienced no trouble, but I've always taken them with food. Dr Cannell Vitamin D council reports no trouble and has even taken the capsules apart and dropped the powder into juice drinks for kids. However having said that Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and there are people who say it's better absorbed in an oil based gel capsules. In which case these 10,000iu code $5 wab666 would be a useful alternative. Still pretty cheap.
1000iu/daily for each 25lbs you weigh should be about right for winter use maybe a couple of thousand less in the summer.
Now we know that it's only at higher concentrations that calcidiol operates as a hormone itself it seems to me more important to keep above the primitive natural level at which human breast milk flows replete with D3, babies are born D3 replete, and least chronic illness occurs. The level 40ng/ml 100nmol/l has been shown not to be sufficiently high for calcidiol to be able to act as a cancer anti proliferation agent so moving up to the 25(OH)D level at which less cancer is found seems to be a sensible option.

Very interesting.
I will have to look into this further.
Thanks for the explanation.

Zinc lozenges help to shorten the duration of a cold, and they are usually made of zinc gluconate.

I like the zinc lozenges too. I like them because they remain in the mouth longer and can assist with killing bacteria there where you need it during a cold.
I also like zinc picolinate. Picolinic acid is the body's prime natural chelator. Chelators are organic molecules that have their electrical charges arranged in such a way as to attract the positively charged mineral and temporarily tuck the mineral into a larger complex. Mineral uptake by tissues is far greater when the mineral is a Picolinate, rather than the other forms. Since our bodies utilize Picolinic acid to absorb and transport certain minerals, and our cells recognize mineral picolinates and readily use them, it makes sense to design mineral supplements based on this knowledge. This means that zinc picolinate may be the best form for the body to be able to utilize the zinc.
Zinc can be toxic if more than 50 MG per day. So check your labels. I also find that zinc should be taken with food; just because it makes me feel nauseated if I do not.
www.globallight.net sells a liquid zinc called Nano Zinc; contains Zinc Gluconate
and Zinc Ascorbate, in a 2oz dropper bottle. Suggested dosage is 3 half droppers
in water. I think taking a product like this before a cold would be helpful. I do like
the zinc lozenges to suck on when having a cold esp if there is a sore throat.
If you go to GLN's website, click on the Nano Zinc picture for an explanation of
the importance of Zinc.

Is zinc something like vitamin D that most of us who don't supplement are deficient in and would be a good thing to take?.....I think I have read about zinc being good for the heart also.
