Default SUCCESS

My dad had a blood and urine collect test last week for today's Doctor's appt. His kidney function improved 16 percent (on a 100 point base). I told the doc I was giving him Coenzyme Q (90-180 mg a day), high dose fish oil and turmeric. He looked at me and said whatever you are doing keep doing it. I also asked him for a script of very low dose zocor (5mg) to give him for one month (I hate the idea of statins, but there is evidence for statin reversal in chronic kidney failure, plus it will only be for one month and it is the lowest dose available, so low, I have to wait until tomorrow to pick up the pills, they have to get them from another store., since docs ususally do not go for such a low dosage.

Congratulations, that's great success! Your father's very lucky to have such a smart and loving son caring for his needs! I wish him the best, and hope his improvement is ongoing!

Congratulations on your father's health.

I am diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I used Turmeric, Fish Oil, and Ginger supplements along with a mostly vegetable diet. I have had one period of 3 or 4 months when I was diagnosed but since then I have done well. I would recommend these supplements for anyone because I do buy into the inflammation theory of many illnesses.

Those supplements are amazing and they are simply foods. You need to check out the book "the inflamation syndrome", it pushes those big time. I am planning a trip canada trip in a few weeks (4 hrs away) to buy a fish oil they sell up there called O3MEGA, it is preserved with rosemary extract and tastes great (if you ever get uo there, get the liquid, not the capsules). (And of course a couple cases of Labatt's Extra Dry, an awesome beer).

I will have to wait for 6 months to get actual numbers from a lung function test, but in the last one my dads capacity was 20%. I put him on 100,000 IU of emulsified vitamin A for 6 days (I only did 6 days because high dose vitamin A weakens the bones, but supposedly it reverses emphysema (to an extent), the actual drug accutane (all trans retinoic acid) has been shown to reverse it, but no doctors will prescribe it for him and I read that emulsified vit A (100,000 IU a day) will have a similar action, just not as great). But he has improved in the gym big time right after this. I wish to God that doctors would embrace something besides standard drug treatment for everything.

It's good to hear that he improved with your vitamin A treatment, hopefully it'll show on the test too! I wonder why they wouldn't prescribe Accutane for him.

If the doctors embraced supplementation instead of medication it would definitely be good for their patients. However, folks like us would then probably need a prescription for vitamin A, and pay inflated prices for it.

Accutane has a ton of side effects. As forthem charging inflated prices, those albuterol (asthma inhalers) use to be cheap, then they changed the propellant (there excuse was the propellant was bad for the ozone layer) and now the inhalers cost 3-4 times as much. I will be doing a short vacation in el salvador in march, I bet I can find them there for cheap. I will check.

Good going, and congratulations.

Thoughtful treatment works, and I am happy that you were able to do this with virtually no risk and a good result.
