Next Week,I have a Consultation with a new ARNP.After almost 2 Years with my Doctor,I've had enough!I'm told the ARNP is patient and sits and listens to what Patients have to say,is open to suggestions Patients have with their Health and is open to try Alternatives instead of Western Drugs. If all goes well,I will begin seeing her,and kick my MD to da Curb!

It's hard to find a patient, open-minded and helpful doctor. I wish you the very best of luck!

Good luck Chatterbox! I hope the nurse practicioner really cares, shows you respect and can help you with alternative means if necessary. It's good that you're making the move!

In the UK it means Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, it appears to be the same here as well. They can do more things without MD supervision.

Thumbs up

In the states, I think it's the same as a Nurse Practioner and can be male or female.
In my doctors office, it's a male who has been with their office for over 10 yrs and
is actually preferred by many patients over the regular doctors. He can do everything except prescribe Pharma drugs.

Now that sounds like a winning combination.
