Default I might as well talk to a wall!(giving advice)

CoWorker's mom has sarcoidosos. I looked it up. It can be helped with turmeric and fish oil. When I told her that she gave me a weird look like I was high on something.

Gave a freind some ginger candy (ginger chew, 8% ginger) for IBS. She ate one piece and was curious why she was not helped???????????????

Some people have it imbedded in them that if a doctor or tv ad isn't recommending something, then it's just voodoo, or an old wives tale.

Others already have formed an opinion in their minds that something is not going to work, and they stick with it. They pass the word ASAP that the 'remedy' did not work, just as they thought.

It's nice that you try to help people, although I'm not as knowledgeable as you, I'm the same way. Ultimately, they are the losers when they refuse to try simple and safe things to improve their condition.

Well we know that people have been brain washed for years, about the concept of the doctor is always right and that his word is bible.... Its a shame people are so afraid to find out the truth...its like if they find out their doctor doesnt know all the answers then somehow they are doomed!!!!

Ive gotten to the point where I just say, hey are you interested in an alternative idea... if so let me know, I might be able to help you at and my ideas are usually cheaper then a doctors visit... some come and we have had success with some... some come and the idea didnt help...and some just look at me like Im crazy and chalk it up to they know i am crazy....all you can do is offer

And then there are those that overdo it. They take too much and suffer a Herxheimer reaction, and give alternative meds a bad reputation.

The average Westerner sits on their ass, does nothing proactive in terms of diet, exercise and lifestyle modification. Then when something goes wrong, they finally get off their ass for a few seconds to enter the car, sit down driving, till they can reach a doctor. These professionals, however only believe in pharmaceutical pills or surgery. These happy patients do nothing for their own health and expect that a few minutes actually seeing a specialist certified by the university called a doctor can overcome the destructive habits and damage they built over years which led to their ailment. Most have come to believe that you can do nothing to improve your health, that when something goes wrong you act as a consumer of the medical specialists and their method of symptomatology, and they cannot grasp that there is a different kind of reality where you can take your health into your own hands. But most do not want to know this paradigm on a fundamental level, preferring to act as surrogate children, while the specialists are the adult supervisors and total overseers of their health. To believe any different means they would have to own up to the fact that they cause most their health problems through their poor lifestyle, something that is totally against the conventional wisdom of health, where it is always now not your fault, the diseases and conditions just seemingly pop out of nowhere.

If you analyze things, everywhere you turn, you realize there is nothing really more pathetic than a modern Westerner, living in a fool's civilizational, not realizing his life is so precisely regimented, determined and conditioned since birth, instead waxing over the idyllic image that he is the freest man seen in human history.

The average american is pathetic. On a nice summer day they will drive 1/2 mile instead of walk, they laugh at organic foods and home grown ones because the ones in the supermarket are perfect and without blemish, I have 2 friends (female) who are severely fucked in the head: they read too much cosmoplitan and watch too many model like women on TV and think every guy wants a woman who is 5 9' and 105 pounds and one of them has destroyed her health optaining this ideal (she is 5 8' and weighed 150 and looked fantastic, but she went to some quack doc who gave her pills and put her on a very low carb diet and she dropped to 118 and looks like shit: gaunt, bird legs etc and she still wants to lose more). I have other friends who have health problems and eat out regularly and when they cook it is always white flour, meat (and lots of it) and very few veggies.

Another thing about americans, we (including me) eat too much and are not satisfied with what was considered a regular serving 30 yrs ago. We also (not me in this case) run to the doctor for every ache, pain, flu, cold etc and are happy when we get a script for something.

For those of you not american, just take my word on this: It is totally amazing and unethical how many people in this country get vicodans, percodans, xanax from the doc just for the asking. If you want a pain killer or tranqulizer, just ask the person next to you, he/she will probably have some.

I tried talking to a guy last night whose dad had cancer surgery. I stopped the conversation rather quickly when it was obvious this guy had no clue what I was talking about. I might as well discussed electromagnetic field theory with a 5 yr old.
