Default Are blood tests worthless?

I hope this post doesn't become heated or too controversial. It is a sincere question. This is a quote from https://www.healingnaturallybybee.com...es/menu5_3.php.
Quote:
Why You Cannot Rely on Blood Tests for Nutrient Levels

Your circulatory system, also known as the cardiovascular system, is the system
that, in humans and other higher animals, delivers oxygen, horones and nutrients
throughout the body by a complex network of vessels, and it carries carbon
dioxide and waste products from the cells to organs that get rid of them, which
are mainly through the lungs, liver and kidneys.

There are two main types of vessels in the circulatory system:

1) The arteries

2) The veins

Arteries mainly contain oxygen from the lungs, nutrients from the digestive
system, and hormones, which they circulate to every cell throughout the body.

The cells uptake the oxygen, nutrients, and hormones, and dump their waste
products into the system along with carbon dioxide, which are carried away by
the veins.

Veins carry deoxygenated blood, carbon dioxide, waste products from the cells,
and any nutrients or hormones the cells didn't need and/ or couldn't uptake,
back to the lungs so the carbon dioxide can be released along with any other
waste products the lungs get rid of, and it circulates to other organs that get
rid of waste like the liver and the kidneys.

Blood tests are taken from the veins, which contains blood that has been
depleted of nutrients, hormones, oxygen, etc. by cells throughout the body.

Therefore, blood from the veins mainly contain carbon dioxide, waste products
from the cells, and hormones and nutrients the cells didn't need and/or couldn't
use. The reason cells aren't able to uptake some nutrients and hormones is
because other nutrients that work along with them are lacking and/or because
cell membranes aren't healthy.

All cell membranes must be constructed out of 50% saturated fat (lung cell
membranes need 100%) in order to be healthy. If they aren't constructed
properly the cells become weak and are less able to intake nutrients, hormones,
etc. and get rid of their waste products.

Also toxins make cell membranes rigid/stiff so the cells are less able to uptake
nutrients, hormones, oxygen, water, etc.

Testing vitamin D levels in the blood has become popular these days however
blood from the veins only indicates the amount of vitamin the cells didn't or
couldn't uptake. The same is true for any other nutrients and hormones.

In conclusion, testing your blood for hormones and nutrients like Vitamin D,
iron, calcium, B12, etc. is futile and meaningless since hormones and nutrients
in veins only indicate what the cells did not uptake.

That is why it is important to stick to the basics, by following the diet and
only taking the supplements recommended. "More is not better."

Your body is smart enough to balance out all of its nutrient levels, hormones,
etc. if it gets what it needs to do its job.

I found that article laughable! Clearly a reflection of someone who does not comprehend the anatomy, circulation and the consitutents thereof to any degree what so ever.

Yet some of the other articles on that page make greater sense... and I have been reading the works of the old time image makers like pasteur, Jenner, Beauchamp, etc. It was quite a war of ideologies going on at that time.

I think the truth probably lies somewhere closer to the middle, but yes, the terrain is the crux of the matter..

Something that I read a while back and it haunts my thinking is that metals can be attached to the place that vit. or minerals would normally go. On a blood test, there may be a large reading of say zinc but if mercury for example was occupying that spot then the benefits of zinc would not be there and the blood test would show high or normal levels of zinc. No?

I ask the question because my husband wants to get my daughter's blood work done to determine toxicities/parasites/mineral deficiencies and allergies but I don't want to chase after the wind if these tests aren't going to be accurate or lead us to changing the underlying cause of her health issues.

I'm still thinking of homeopathy but it's taking me time to grasp it's concept and go for it.

If you want to test your daughter there are two tests that I would recommend.
A hair analysis for metals and a live blood analysis by dark field microscope.
Blood tests won't tell you a whole lot regarding nutrition but it can give indicators to other diseases and generally that requires even further tests if anything looks strange.

I don't remember exactly the issues with your daughter but have you had her checked for gluten intolerance? have her checked for all the metabolic disorders that they know how to check for.

Dark field will show blood born pathogens that doctors othewise cannot see including parasites. It can show many many things... and then after you attempt corrective measures it can show if you are improving.

I don't know a lot about blood tests for vitamins but the B12 and D3 tests are pretty good, except the standard for the B12 normal is set too low. I think she should be at least 200 on the low end yet.

Even conventional doctors use hair analysis for metal toxicity these days.

I do think there are some blood tests for unsusual chemicals like PCBs etc. but you know, almost everyone has that stuff.. Just being alive in the good ole USA means you've got trash inside.

Good homoepahtic prescribing can get rid of many problems including heavy metals and parasites. I have been tested a couple of times for metals and show nothing... I chalk that up to having some very good homoepathic prescriptions in my life... and I have clearly seen homoepathy eliminate microbes...all kinds of microbes.

Oh, and regarding minerals in the blood.. calcium will almost always look normal as the body will pull it out of the bones to maintain a normal level. and magnesium, there is no good test for that... so I assume it may be true for other metals and minerals.

Thanks Arrowwind! I had someone tell me she had problems with gluten and so do I so we've been gluten-free for a couple years. My daughter has a chronically bloated stomach (when I palpate it it sounds hollow), 3 chronically swollen toes, toenails that are weak and full of dry cracks and food allergies. She's also chubby at 3.5 years old. She doesnt seem to get full. She eats nothing processed or lacking nutrients (well with the soil as it is maybe she is lacking.)

Do you think if I went to a homeopath without any tests that they could help my daughter or do you think I would need a live blood cell test, heavy metal hair analysis and metabolic panel too? Homeopaths don't do those sort of tests do they?

Homeopaths do not need those types of tests... at least a classical homeopath does not, those who do sequential therapy might like the info, but thats another story, did you read my articles on explaining homoepathy?

So your daughter has never been given a diagnosis by any kind of doctor?

Listen, homoepathy is only as good as the homoepath you find and sometimes it takes a number of visits to get what you are looking for. When my son developed a skin problem I put him on a plane and flew him half way across the country to see a homoepath and I did not regret it.

Personally If it was my child I would be working both ends of the rope, a naturopath or alternative med doc on one end and a homoepath on the other.
