Default Over 45 yr olds (Prevention Magazine)

Remember the late 70s and the early 80s: Prevention Magazine was highly anti allopathic medicine and anti pharma, now they are in bed with the AMA and big pharma. Also, if you needed vitamins/supplements, you went to the GNC store and they had everything, but now all they basically have is a small selection of supplements and a huge selection of body building / weight loss crap.

I don't remember how Prevention was years ago, but I had a free subscription one time, and just paged through a Nov. 2009 issue...LOTS of ads for prescription meds, from 1 to 4 pages long. Haven't been in a GNC lately, but I do remember them having a good selection of supplements years back.

Find a good library, preferably a university one with back issues of prevention. Night and day. 30 yrs ago they were against pharma and now pharma is the biggest advertiser in that magazine.

Money. It's all about money. It's astounding how much money the big pharms have and are willing to spend on advertising.

prevention magazine was one of the first taste of alternative medicine for me... every time I could afford it, I bought one.. I loved it.... but once the pharma ads started getting in there, I stopped reading...it was really disappointing. I dont know about GNC, I never went there much. Times change, and money makes those changes easier!

They use to be great and then I guess money influenced them.
