Some of you may be aware that a huge huge dam is being planned for the Amazon Forest basin, aside from the thousands of indiginous people to be displaced it will cut into and kill forever a huge land mass of supreme vegetation that holds untold resources in biology, as well as the capacity to maintain environmental cilmate balance, and hence the health of people and the entire planet.

Signed it (and I usually do not sign stuff like this). The US already screwed up by destroying its farmland. The rainforest is even more vital. You can reclaim farmland in many cases, but the rainforest takes considerably longer. Also, big pharma hates the rain forest because they would be out of business if the herbs were marketed.
If any of you can do it, I would suggest checking out a rain forest, preferably in central or south america. As a city boy, I can say I have ner seen anything more beautiful in my life. Also, make sure you do a guided tour, if you get lost, you are lost for good.

So many, of these sites want your email so they can send you a lot more stuff to sign later. Some just use it to verify that you have not already signed something. When I sign stuff, I normally get pestered for months later. But so many are legitimate. Your choice.
I don't know who owns this particular track of land but I would say the indigenous people do..
but of course they don't count in this day and age. Quite a while back Brazil was in serious debt to World Bank. They paid that debt by signing over a huge part of the Amazon forest to the bank.. Where it went from there who knows?
