Sounds like a canchre sore to me. It probably has a microbal origin. It may go away on its own and a very acidic diet can bring it on. This thread may be helpful to you.

Arrowwind,
I think it's a Canker Sore.Gently brushed my Teeth/Tongue,then gargled with Peroxide.Am now making a Mug of Pau D' Arco Tea.Do you think GSE Liquid on my Toothbrush would help?

Some folks put Tea Tree Oil on their canker sores inside the mouth.

Kind2creatures,
I read using Tea Tree Oil on Canker Sores is helpful.Went to Doctor on Wednesday. He told me I cut my Tongue, have Fungus in my Mouth and the swelled Gland in my R Neck is Tonsillitis, which I disagree.I do not have a sore Throat. He wrote a Scrip for Duricef, and I'm taking Probiotics and eating Organic, plain and unsweetened Yogurt. He is concerned about my Immune System. Each time I have Labs at the Clinic,my WBC is slightly elevated.April 1 at an Appointment,WBC was 13.2,yet at Emergency early Morning April 2-normal..

I'd like to say since I've been on Vitamin D3 I've had maybe 1 of these in 2 years. I used to get these so much before. I used to get them on my tongue, and the inside of my lips.

If you have an oral fungal problem, then use the GSE.

Mix 2 or 3 drops of grapefruit seed extract with each ounce of distilled or R.O. water. That would be 25 to 30 drops per 10 ounce bottle of water. Shake it up good, and gargle with an ounce a couple times per day and again right before going to sleep. It will kill the fungus, along with any bacteria in your mouth, including staph.

Question

Is there any chance that your Dr had to use that diagnosis in order
for your Insurance to accept and cover it?

Some docs will use larger diagnostic codes than the condition will actually merit. They want assured insurance coverage... sometimes they just can't find the exact code so they use what they find.

chatterbox, in general changes in the mouth like you mention have to do with generalized nutrition and digestion disorder. In chinese medicine many many things are diagnosed by changes in the tongue similar to what you mention. Such imbalances can cause an increase in microbe activity in the mouth.

Perhaps it is time to look at diet and digestive issues, exercise etc. Look into the oral regimens posted in the dental forum. Drink more water. Think about a liver cleanse, a juice fast.
