Dead Duck Story
A man was walking along the road and he found a dead duck.
Unsure what to do with it he took it to the Veterinarian. The man said to him "Doc, I got this dead duck. What can you do?" The vet said "well let me see." and he put the duck on the exam table. As they were looking at the duct a golden lab passed by and sniffed at the duck then left. Then the office cat came by and also looked over the dead duck. Finally the vet said. "Ok that will be $150." "What doc! This is just a dead duck! How can it cost $150 for a dead duck?" "Well" the doc said, " I've got expenses here. First the lab test then a cat scan." |

ROFL! The Boss had a minor stroke a few weeks ago (she's almost done with physical rehab and is essentially back to normal now) and when the insurance statements started to come in almost the exact same scenario flashed through my mind.
BTW, the charges for 6 hrs ER, 3.5 days hospital, 4 doctors and a slew of tests were about $9,000 USD. After Blue Cross/Blue Shield and TRICARE (military supplement) paid their parts our total out of pocket was ... $17.68 USD, or about 10 pounds sterling if'n I figure correctly. No kidding. That's why I thought the information belonged in a "Humor" thread. |
