Default Please help, I want to start again...

Hi everyone,

I really want to start again tomorrow but I have one problem. I really don't know what to eat for breakfast. Please please give me some examples so I can start again. I don't like eating meat for breakfast, makes me feel sick.

I used to eat 2 eggs and some cheese for breakfast which doesn't fill me up. What else can I eat apart from eggs, cheese and meat for breakfast?

Thank you

I have the same thing for breakfast everyday now. It is so good, and it completely fills me up.

1/4 cup chopped onions (make sure you measure)
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 tablespoon unsalted butter

I fry those 3 things in a smal frying pan for about 2-3 minutes (no cover, on high heat.) Then I chop up some lunch meat, usually ham. (The skinny slices people put on sandwiches.) Let that cook with the peppers and onions for about 2 more minutes. Then I add two large eggs, and scramble them with everything. It is so yummy. And very filling. Hope that helps.

Hey Emma,

I find that eating an omelette in the morning works well for me. Basically you can add pretty much anything from meat to cheese, to veggies. Just make sure you count the carbs. Also you can change it up daily with your mood and tastes. I find that an omelette fills me up better than just plain eggs and bacon.

Also not sure how induction friendly they are but there are some low carb yogurts out there that are pretty good. Most have around 3-4 carbs. Also a lot of times I just drink an Atkins shake in the morning and it seems to fill me up.

Hope this helps a little, I'm not exactly a cook and the omelette is pretty easy. Not sure what else you can eat that is induction friendly and for breakfast.

Take two (or three if you're hungry) eggs, and beat them (with a fork or a blender) in a bowl, with a bit of cold water (like 2-3 tablespoons) or heavy cream. Now some people like it beaten very smooth (I do), others take it barely mixed, so bits of youlk and white are discernible. Choose your own version. Add salt and pepper to taste. Heat a pan with some butter or olive oil in it. Pour the egg mixture and fry. Classic way is not to turn it, but just wait until the top is almost set and fold in half. I don't bother and simply turn it as I would a pancake.

That's the basic omelette. Now you can add stuff to egg mixture: onions, chopped chives, jalapenos, peppers, you name it. You can also fry some stuff in the pan first (ground meat, bacon, onions, jalapenos, you name it) and pour the egg mixture over it. You can drizzle tabasco or jalapeno sauce over it. You can drizzle salad dressing over it. You can do pretty much anything with it. You can also add Splenda (or sugarfree syrup, instead of water/cream) and have a sweet version.

Have you ever tried Northern Lady's flax meal cereal? The fiber and protein can be really filling. Or since you said that meat in the morning makes you feel sick, have you ever tried Morningstar soy meats? They sell in the grocery store, near the frozen pastries and the waffles. They make soy breakfast sausages and bacons, these dont taste bad at all, i'm sure even the worst carnivore couldnt say they tasted bad

I believe that if you begin eating a little bacon, or even lean sausage with your eggs for breakfast you can learn to like it or at least become accustomed to it. It's just a matter of time and effort.

Try omelets and just use a little meat. It will help you get further along in the day before you are hungry again. And if you do get a little hungry later, nibble a small piece of cheese in the middle of it all.

Over time you can make food less important and what you have to eat at any given meal will not be so important. It just takes time.

Good Luck!

I hated sausage and barely even liked bacon..and then i decided to try them more, little by little, while being on atkins - and really like them now. The one thing i know i will never like are pickles :x lol

I cook breakfast every morning for my aide and my dept head. We always have an omelette but it's always different. Bacon, sausage, ham, leftover steak, leftover pork chops, etc. I also put a dollop of sour cream in the middle with the cheese.

And the best part is that by the time lunch comes around, we're still full from breakfast.

And another good part is that both of my aides are on a diet. One is doing Atkins with me and the other is following a low-fat plan. Monday, we came in and I said that I had lost six pounds. She said she had lost five. BUT and this is a big BUT---she's eating low-fat cereal and no-fat milk for breakfast and a grapefruit for lunch.

Today, I had a bacon and cheese omelette for breakfast and a cheeseburger on a salad for lunch. HaHaHaHa!!!
