Some things I don't think were mentioned there.
1. Changing jobs. 2. Things like Yoga, Pilates etc etc. 3. Supplements, or things that increase Seratonin, like Tryptophan, 5-HTP etc etc. 4. Complimentary therapies, Acupuncture, Reiki etc etc. 5. Humour. 6. TV, Video DVD, Cinema and books. Things you feel comfortable with and like. 7. Joining clubs or societies that do things you like, e.g. Book clubs, Church groups, Rockclimbing clubs etc etc. 8. Don't get married or have more than 1 child . Okay that last one was a bit goofy, so you can ignore that if you want to |

Chamomile works great to calm down, B vitamins to replenish. And doing things for yourself. Like things you used to enjoy but havent done because of typical excuses-work, no time, etc. Dancing, playing games, sports, etc.

Gee, I actually can help in that area....you have to learn to say no, you need to get negative people out of your life, and you need to know that it will all be good in the end, if its not good, then its not the end!!!!! Most importantly, you need to realize and learn, that you are the most important person in your life, if you dont take care of you first, then eventually when others need you the most, you wont be able to take care of them.... I have made many changes in my life these last few years... it was/is a matter of if the stress doesnt go away, its going to kill me...Learn to take care of yourself... its really hard to do, (believe me, I know how hard it is) but it is possible!!!!

Exactly. You are clearly someone who values yourself enough to want to make changes.
As Just Me said, it will be hard, but of course it is possible, and it may not happen completely, these things rarely do, but the more you can do to make things less stressful, the better. Good luck, and no worries okay. you seem like a great person, and it's good to have you around |

Stress and anxiety are signs and symptoms of a significant imbalance. If none of the above recommendations work for you you must assume that it is not a transient condition but one that needs significant medical intervention.
I do not recommend drugs, antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications as these will only deepen the problem in the long run. Find a good classical homeopath and learn about homeopathy as medical option. You must anticipate at least 5 visits with a homoepathy for significant results, but often results can come sooner. I have seen the most severe "psyche" diagnosis fade away with homeopathy, including anxiety disorder, clinical depression, post partum depression, and OCD behavior.

The biggest thing which has reduced stress in my life is exercise, specifically mountain biking. Its fun, it makes your body work hard, it releases adrenalin which makes it very exciting, and that sort of exercise releases dopamine, which makes you feel MUCH better, even after a very crappy day at work etc. It also helps re-balance your brain chemistry as a result. Highly recommend it.

Three words. Emotional Freedom Therapy, or E.F.T. This system is so easy and simple. Look it up on google and download the ebook for free. For some once they learn the system it can work immediately. It is base on pressure points and the energy that they can restore and heal old wounds. I did not believe this could be so simple but it is.
Good Luck |

I think a combination of Diet, Meditation, and exercise can get you on the right track. I'm currently working on the meditation bit myself.

There are a lot of sressful times that are going to come upon the earth in the next few years and the only sure anchor I know of, and will be relying on in these times of stress is Jesus Christ. His invitation " Come unto me all who are weary and heavy laden and you will find rest for your Soul " is the best advice I know off for all who are anxious or stressed.

I recommend doing regular exercises like yoga and swimming. Also, talk and spend time with your friends. You may just need to talk with them about what's stressing you and what's making you anxious. If you still feel that way, I think that would be the time you need to seek the advice of a professional.

Hi Mary
I would agree with the others and say that you should get regular exercise, such as tai chi or yoga. It is also important to feed and nourish your adrenal glands as they produce stress hormones that protect your body from the effects of stress. To effectively nourish the adrenals, vitamin B is important, but especially Vitamin B5. Also combine this with vitamin C. You may also consider trying pregnenolone as it inhibits the binding of Cortisol ( a negative stress hormone) from attaching to your body's cells and inducing the cellular stress response. Siberian ginseng also nourishes and supports the adrenal glans, while Rhodiola nourishes and supports the nervous system. Also important to practice relaxation techniques, get enough sleep, and also to find someone who you trust who you can confide in. I would make the following dietry recommendations as well: Eat a diet that consists of 50-75% raw foods, e.g. fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid processed foods and all foods that create stress on the system, such as artificial sweeteners, carbonated soft drinks, chocolate, eggs, fried foods, junk foods, pork, red meat, sugar, white flour, and foods containing preservatives or heavy spices. Avoid alcohol, tobacco, and mood altering drugs. Eliminate dairy products from your diet for 3 weeks, then reintroduce them slowly, and watch for returning symptoms of your stress. Limit your intake of caffeine, as this result in nervousness and sleep disturbances. If you have any specific questions let me know. |
