question for Xania about acupuncture
it is so nice to have a resident acupuncture expert on board.
Xania, I was wondering if you could tell us if you have treated any chemotherapy patients? and how did they react to the treatment? If it helped them, how did it help? also, have you treated any patients post chemo? and if it helped them, in what way? thanks. |

Yes, I have treated a few - but not many.
One man had treatment during his "carry-it-around-with-you" chemo. He was in pain and I think his cancer was advanced. I don't believe acupuncture helped him. He died a few months later. Another man (I don't recall treating women who had chemo) recovered well. I treated him after the chemo had ended. The aim of treatment for him was to help him regain health and well being. I think acupuncture speeded up a process that might have happened anyway, but would have taken longer if left alone. Over the years I have treated a few others, during chemotherapy. It helped a little with some of the worst symptoms. I don't know the eventual outcome of all of those people, but I do recall temporary relief from symtoms. |
