Question Using MMS in pregnancy?

I have been dealing with a vaginal infection off and on (mostly on) for the past 7 years. At this point, virtually nothing will cure it. Antiobiotics don't help (they actually caused the problem in the first place), and I've tried all sorts of natural cures, most of which have no effect and at best alleviate the symptoms a little bit.

The one thing that does help is MMS. If I take it orally and use it as a douche, the infection will clear up (and did when I used this protocol last summer). However, I want another baby and am nervous about taking MMS orally while pregnant. So I quit using MMS when we started trying to conceive - and the infection came back.

The infection I have increases the risk of miscarriage at all stages and can cause various other pregnancy complications. Since we have started trying for another baby, I have had two miscarriages. During the first pregnancy, I used MMS only as a douche, since I felt the baby would have minimal exposure to the MMS (my doctor actually okayed this). Using the MMS as a douche helped my symptoms but did not cure the infection (probably because there were bacteria in my digestive tract that kept replacing the bacteria the douche killed). The baby died at 13 weeks. In my second pregnancy, I didn't use MMS at all, partly because I was afraid to take it orally and knew the douche couldn't cure the infection itself and partly because my husband was afraid the MMS might have played a role in the miscarriage. My infection was horrible because there really isn't anything other than MMS that will treat it, and the baby died at 10 weeks.

Obviously, I don't know why the miscarriages occurred, but I feel like the infection I have is one of the most likely causes. I'm afraid to go through another pregnancy with an untreated infection, and since the only thing that gets rid of it is MMS, I'm starting to consider just taking the MMS orally and as a douche to ensure the infection doesn't come back. I don't think MMS is inherently dangerous and I know Jim Humble says it's safe to use in pregnancy. However, I know chlorine dioxide is a powerful chemical, and I'm still nervous about using it early on in pregnancy when the baby is so tiny.

I wondered if there is anyone here who has any experience with using MMS during pregnancy, either positive or negative. (I don't really need kneejerk "MMS is dangerous in pregnancy because it's untested" comments as I've already found a lot of those online.)

First of all Are you sure this is a fungal infection?

Second, could your husband be reinfecting you?

Have you tried iodine douche and Lugols iodine orally?

How long did you do the mms protocol for? Have you tried a complete mms cleanse? for several months? Of course this should be done before pregnancy.

I am not convinced that mms can kill everything as some people are.

If you do have a fungus I wonder if you have a mutant variety. Sometimes this happens after using antibiotics or after using antifungals. If a complete mms protocol does not work, if and Iodine protocol does not work, you may have to look into finding a drug that will kill mutant strains of fungus. Your husband should do all the same protocols you do at the same time, including a drug it it comes to that. You could be passing things back and forth and men often have no symptoms.

I would try to have it cultured so you know what you are contending with. It may not make a difference with mms or iodine therapy but it will for drug therapy. You should not take any drug without a culture and sensitivity test before starting it no matter what your doctor says or how nonchalant he seems making you feel like a fool for asking. Demand it. Meanwhile I will post all the alternative treatments for vaginal infections that I know. I have to move it from my other computer so check back later.

Thanks for the reply.

The infection is Bacterial Vaginosis. I've had it numerous times in the past 7 years, so I know what the symptoms feel like, plus the last two times I saw the doctor about it, I was tested and the infection was definitely BV. It's possible my husband could be reinfecting me, but from what I've read, that usually is not a problem with BV - and during a lot of the time I was trying to treat the infection, we didn't have sex enough for me to think that was the reason the infection wouldn't go away. (BV and sex don't really go together well. *sigh*)

A betadine douche is one of the only natural BV treatments I haven't tried yet. My doctor said it could kill good bacteria too, so I was a little leery of trying it. (The other is collodial silver - I was scared of some of the side effects I read about.) I haven't heard of Lugols iodine and will look into that.

When MMS got rid of the infection last summer, I had gotten up to 15 drops 3 times a day. I wasn't there for a full week (can't remember why I wasn't - I think it was just hard to take MMS three times a day plus fit in the vitamins I was taking), and then stopped the MMS because we were ready to start trying to conceive. I don't have any other health issues besides this stupid infection, so it only took me a few weeks to get up to 15 drops twice a day, and I took that much (or more) for a month or so. (I was taking MMS for about 2 1/2 months total.) Taking MMS orally didn't have any effect on the infection, but using it as a douche AND orally did clear it up after about 6 weeks.

If you know of any other treatments for vaginal infections, I'd love to know about them. So far I've tried:

- Antibiotics: metronidazole, clindamyacin, and tindamax (sp)
- Hydrogen Peroxide douche
- Replens and Rephresh
- several different probiotics with the correct bacteria for the vagina
- garlic suppositories
- Bio-Fem Active Gel (only available in the UK)
- boric acid
- acidophilus
- extra folic acid
- Vitamin D (2000 IU didn't help; I'm going to try bumping up the dose)
- probably some other things I've forgotten about

A few treatments have helped minimize the symptoms, but MMS is the only thing that has seemed to actually get rid of the infection. I just apparently have to keep taking MMS at some level or the infection will come back.

I would look at boosting the entire immune system for both you and your husband.

Vitamin D3 is essential and use this brand, biotec and you can find it at www.iherb.com get your levels up real high. Get your levels checked soon before starting. your husband too. you want your levesl up around 70 and you will have to recheck your blood to make sure you got there. Order a bottle of 50,000 IU and 5,000 IU. take 50 3xd for 3 days then 1 x d for a week, the 10,000 iu for a week then 5,000 iu for a week. Recheck your leveles in a couple of weeks. You should be able to stay at 5,000 but some people cant and need more. For instance I take th 5,000 daily except I take a 50 once or twice a month. Other people do better on taking 10,000 a day. You have to figure out what it takes to keep around 70. Im usually between 70 and 90 or so. We have lots of posts here on vitamin d so do a search

learn about iodine supplementation and use Lugols. Do a forum search here and read on it. Iodine willl also keep your immune system functioning better.

Eat a natual diet. As much organic as you can find. Add fresh nuts and seeds, coconut and olive oils.

Repeat the mms but this time have your husband do it too. You need to eliminate the possibility that this infection is getting passed around.
Go to www.jimhumble.biz and read the new protocol for mms. Smaller doses more frequently are recommended and in your case to better cover the life cycle of the microbe. its also easier on the stomach and taste buds. Remember mms is only in the system for about 2 hours.. that is enough time for microbes to reproduce between dosages. Continue with the douche.

If a 4 week protocol of mms with the new dosing protocol fails I would look at colloidal silver. I would not be afraid of it.

Better to do all of this before pregnancy and make sure you are clear. You don't want his coming up during.

Thanks for the advice about Vitamin D. I've gotten some of the brand you suggested and will see if that helps too.

I've already divided my oral doses into three doses; I have a hard time fitting more than that in along with taking vitamins a couple times a day. However, I do know multiple smaller doses works. I've gotten rid of the worst part of a number of viruses (including H1N1) by taking a few drops every hour for several hours. After reading your suggestion, I thought I'd try doing the douche with fewer drops more often. I've only been able to do it a couple different days, but it really seemed to help.

At this point, I am feeling "normal" a lot of the time, and when I do have symptoms, they are much milder. I used to have to use products to mask the symptoms multiple times a day and was still quite uncomfortable a lot of the time, but for the last several days, I've only had to use the products once or twice. Hopefully, within a few more weeks the infection will be totally gone.
