Getting my pool ready for summer!
I have been trying to get away from the chlorine and other chemicals used in a swimming pool.... I have one of those larger walmart pools (24ft by4andahalf ft) Last year we bought the saltwater filter system... not sure if it wasnt big enough or what, but still had problems and had to go back to the chemicals.... The other day, on the planetgreen channel, I heard about a guy who kept his pool clean using copper and silver.. (im assuming collodial silver) but his was a fancy expensive built in pool that had sensors to monitor and release the right amounts of both (they didnt talk about it alot, just threw the info out)....So, in my poor man thinking abilities, I am wondering how would I figure out how much CS would be needed for my pool? If I use the CS can I hook the saltwater system back up and let them work together?? Also, I have been hearing alot about copper and its antibacterial properties...So, can I buy some copper tubing make a ring the size of my pool, and just let it sit in my pool? According to the show, copper kills the algae. So if I drill a few holes in the tubing, it will stay under water around the edge of the pool, so it wont be in anyones way. or would it be better to somehow attach the tubing to the water return and let the water filter thru the tubing (would that be possible?)? Is it possible to get too much copper in a pool? Is there a certain amount of copper that becomes dangerous to be swimming in? I would love to be able to not use the chlorine and other garbage in my pool.... Any help ya'll can give me would be totally awesome!!
