I came across this article while studying about a certain scam (totally unrelated). Shouldn't it be strange that they would warn against this product but not so much for the statins sold as drugs?

The article is dated Aug 12, 2007. Swanson still has red yeast rice products as of today (Sep 10).

Thanks for the 'heads up" on this one.
Glad to see Trudeau getting his just rewards!
However, it looks like the FDA is being quite active w/their banning of various supplements, etc.

At a lecture given by 4 of the Cleveland Clinic's heart doctors they said that red yeast rice is exactly the same component as the statin drug.

Doctors don't want us taking red yeast rice because they said they cannot be sure exactly how much of the drug that lowers your cholesterol is in a supplement pill.

So, the drug companies just take red yeast rice, remove the component that works and package it up, rename it and give it a big mark-up.
