Smile Rice Bran - The Answer To World Hunger and Longevity?

I think that this is a nutritional product really worth looking into. My next decision will be whether I purchase from a company that sells to people or to horses! Gerry, do you think I would be crazy to purchase from the company below that sees rice bran for horses to use for human consumption?

This is where I first tuned into rice bran, it was Patty in an infomercial. Scroll down on this page and you will see photos from the program that got me thinking about rice bran.

Then it came to my attention the the malaria solution organization is distributing rice bran products to hungry kids along with the malaria solution. Then I found out that other hunger relief organizations do the same around the world. Sooo... I started to think that this rice bran might be pretty cool stuff.

This is a very informative site. Notice the prices at the bottom of the page.

And here. No hype.

And Betty Kaman, I've had some respect for her work over the years.

And here's a photo of it.

"The process does not involve genetically modified organisms. Its just concentrated brown rice. Thats what it is, says Patricia McPeak, 65, who created the process with her husband, Daniel, a former Lockheed Martin Corp. engineer."

Then I started to wonder what is different between horse rice bran and human rice bran. Anybody know. This stuff is only $1 a pound. The above products are $30 and up!!

Default Patty

Great gal. They were just a few miles down the hill from me. I've been using
their stabilized rice bran for about 10 years. Great stuff.

Recently they moved to Arizona --near Phoenix, I think.

I get my rice bran from rice.

We're a rice eating people. Not a day goes buy that we don't eat rice. So by just eating unpolished rice, I get my bran and germ.

I know... not all of us are rice eaters like me.

"I buy rice-bran solubles in bulk at my local HFS"

Haven't heard of this before. But then all I have is Wild Oats which is not the healthiest of HFS.

Does it mix well in water, Donee? or should we call you Patty?

I cant eat that much rice, Gerry, too many carbs for me.

Default Solubles

I'm just Don. Patty refers to Ms Patty McPeak, the inventor
of the process.

Gerry and I reviewed this stuff years ago. You and he are
both correct. Gerry can get relatively real, unadulterated
rice. 'dont think that can be easily found here in the U.S.
And, like U said, you may get a lot of what you don't want
when U eat Gerry's 'real' rice. The solubles are concentrates
that leave out a lot of what you don't want.
