I ordered some Genmaicha (mr. itaru's) that was recommended as being really very good. When it came, it consisted of little green rolled leaves and little brown rice kernels. The kernels were really greenish brown because they would get coated with green tea particles - probably macha.
it looked like this.. but with not so many rice kernels:
But.. it was absolutely delicious. It really was very very good.
so,.. I told my friend about it, and told her that I would bring her some to try.
One day, she called me and wanted to meet for some coffeee at Starbucks. Just before I left, I remembered that I had told her i would bring her a tea sample. So, i got out the container, got a clear plastic baggie, scooped about 3 heaping tablespoons in the baggy, and put it in my purse.
I got to Starbucks, ordered my coffee, sat down with her and was talking, when I remembered that I had brought the tea. So, I said, 'oh! I brought you something", and reached in my purse and pulled the bag out, and said, "You will like this.. it is really good".
well, I thought she was going to have a heart attack. She was looking at the bag and looking around starbucks - looked panic stricken.. and I'm wondering, What's wrong? so, I said, "Hey, it is that green tea I told you about. the genmaicha"
So, she gives me a long look, takes the bag and holds it in front of me and says, "What does this look like? if you didn't know what it was?".. and quickly puts it in her purse.
Well, it finally dawns on me.. and i start laughing.. and she does too.. and says.. "my god.. you are going to get us arrested!!!"..
