Default Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Just hit the mustard seed health food store in Fairlawn OH this morning (Think Whole foods, but a little cheaper and better selections and less snobs).

I picked up a container of extra virgin coconut oil. (Is this similar to extra virgin palm oil, or are the two completely different.)

They are not the same...

Extra virgin coconut oil means it has little processing, mainly the coconuts are pressed only once, however, unless it says "organic", it is most likely sprayed with several pesticides, and also chemical fertilizers may have been used.

Organic virgin coconut oil is very healthy, whereas palm oil is not.

Smile Coconut Oil

I think that Tropical Traditions has the best Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. Granted, it's
on the costly side, but keeps forever, doesn't spoil, and is great for frying or
sauteing. Perhaps you have a friend who would agree to go in with you making it
less costly.
See the Tropical Traditions link at the bottom of these posts.

Thanks for the info guys. I bought a container of Nutvia or something like that at the health food store yesterday. Today is my busy day, but I will have a break from 1-3 and will run home to make some popcorn.

Corn is GMO and is always contaminated with fungus. Fungus produces toxic poisons called mycotoxins, and these cause diseases of all kinds.

GMO foods are linked to Morgellons Disease, amoung others..

Sheep fed a diet high in GMO corn and soy develop leukemia. As a chemist, I really question GMO food safety. As a Christian, I feel God made things 100 percent perfect and if you try and change them, you are messing things up.

Monsanto is a very evil company.

They do not believe in God and they don't care about health... only profit.

Europe doesn't tollerate GMO and neither should we.

What killed the USA is greed. GMO foods are a big example as are Monsanto's Terminator seeds.

Corn is GMO as well as canola, soy, and cottonseed, however, locally grown corn from a farmers market would be fine, that is if it isn't contaminated with mold and fungus..

Canola is not a safe oil in my opinion, it contains small amounts of a toxin called euricic acid.

Also, using cocnut oil to make popcorn produces an awesome popcorn.

Those new to IHERB can use Code WAB666 for a $5 discount. I find IHERB very good even with postage to the UK they work out cheaper for me and they have stuff we can't get in the UK.
UK readers need to note that our CUSTOMS Tax people check order values over 18 and make you pay VAT on them. So it's better NOT to order more than 17.50
the trouble is that the Inland Revenue have their own exchange rate and you cannot be sure that the online calculators of currency values are the same as those used by the revenue. So allow room for a margin of error.

It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the tax but it's the POST OFFICE HANDLING CHARGE of 8 to collect the 3 tax that really annoys me. If you are going to place one order and pay the tax and handling fee then you need to spend a lot of money so it average out.

As our DNA didn't evolve to deal with corn, soybean, safflower and sunflower oil, or everything that contains them they are best avoided. We will obtain sufficient omega 6 for our daily needs from nuts and seeds and the current high tissue levels of omega 6 need to be reduced severely.
