The Nutrition for Nutrition: Why everyone needs glyconutrients
Hello,
What I want to talk to you about today is sickness prevention or glyconutrients to be exact. According to Harpers Biochemistry, a medical textbook used in medical schools there are 8 pre-digested sugars that help with cellular communication and improve your immune system (mannose, glucose, galactose, fucose, xylose, n-acetyl glucosamine, n-acetyl glactosamine and n-acetyl neuramic acid). Now these sugars are not the same as ordinary sugar that we all know to be stored as fat and burned for energy. These sugars cote your cells making something called "cell surface proteins" and are responsible for cell to cell communication.
Now you may be wondering why any of this is important? Well, the human body is made up of anywhere from 60 to 100 trillion cells, and the health of those cells is imperative to your health. Dr. Gunter Blobel of Germany had a theory stating "healthy cells make healthy tissues, healthy tissues makes healthy organs, healthy organs make healthy systems, and if your systems are working synergistically together and are healthy at the cellular level, than you don't have a health problem". Dr. Blobel won the Nobel Prize for medicine for that statement. This means that if your body is communicating properly at the cellular level you can fight off ANY disease or sickness.
Now because of todays nutritional problems only 2 out of these 8 essential sugars are found in todays diet (glucose and galactose). By nutritional problems I mean processed foods, hormones, roundup ready vegetables and fruits, and pesticides. This means that your body needs to synthesize the remaining 6 sugars expending energy and causing stress.
Today if you want to stay healthy and prevent disease you need to supplement your health with glyconutrients.
