Question Need info on JCrews or ?

I'm wanting to order some ultra hot Cayenne Pepper Powder and I thought sure I'd gotten some from them about a yr ago. Now they seem to be selling clothing. No herbs!
What happened?
Any suggestions as to another source for the Cayenne powder on-line?

I get mine from the Penn Herb. Co. or you might want to try Mountain Rose Herbs. Sometimes I order bulk from the Green Herb Cafe. All these are online. Hope this helps.

Cool Cayenne Pepper Powder

Thank you drJohn; I checked out Penn Herb but they didn't have the 90,000
heat units Cayenne powder I prefer. I ended up ordering from Spice Barn - 5
lbs worth. I found another site too - www.myspicesage.com - they also carry
golden flax seeds and other goodies. I don't think I checked out Mountain Rose
or Green Herb Cafe but will do so when I have time.
Thanks again!

Thumbs up On-line source for Nuts and Fruits!

Another on-line Company I found recently is https://www.freshroastedalmondco.com
They also sell brown & golden flax seeds besides all kinds of trail mixes, nuts, beans,
grains and fruits. They sure do look mighty tasty!

Earlybird, go find an Indian grocery store and ask for hot chili powder. You will not be disappointed.

The Sausage Maker website and catalogs by mail have every kind and quality spice you could want. I've been getting their catalogs for about 7 or 8 years and at Christmas have ordered good sausage and natural casing hotdogs from them...the only time of year they offer it. I don't think they make the sausages themselves, but get them from the best sausage makers in New York.

Sausage making requires very fine ground spices so you hardly see them when mixed with the meat these days. The Sausage Maker's spices are fine and, I think, for the most part, in bulk but fresh. I sound like a commercial, but I'm just trying to remember what they've said about them in the past. They have 90 K cayenne in two sizes, and very reasonable. Here is the link.

https://www.sausagemaker.com/spicesa-z.aspx

P.S. I had it set on the cayenne part but it changed. It's listed under red pepper so you'll need to scroll down.

Thumbs up

Thanks nightowl, I found it, but I've already ordered mine from Spice Barn
and it's already been shipped. Going along with our discussions of possible
future higher shipping and product prices in the ChitChat area of the Forum,
the 5 lbs should last me a good while. I'm trying to buy in bulk the things I
use consistantly. I buy the 90,000 heat units Cayenne powder as it keeps
me from having any arthritic pains and circulation problems. It also keeps me
free of any sinus problems.
Arrow, it was from Dr Schulze that I origionally learned of Cayenne, but Spice
Barn's price is a great deal less.
drJohn, I checked out your 2 other suggestions - Mountain Rose Herbs and
Green Herb Cafe - Green Herb does carry the 90,000. I love the way Mountain
Rose is set up, giving the many medicinal uses of every herb/spice as well as
lots of other info. Great site!

Glad to hear that EarlyBird. Mountain Rose Herbs also gives discounts to students enrolled in some of the schools they recommend.
I'm kind of new here so I don't know anyone really but let me suggest that you include lots of fresh greens in you diet as these will help with the arthritis also. I'm glad the Cayenne is working for you. Blood Type A's have to be careful (if you give any value to the Blood Type Diet info) with the Cayenne as well as black and white pepper. I'm not totally sure as to why. I'm a blood type A and I love Cayenne and use it daily.
Another suggested thing for arthritis and all bone issues is the use of organic meat stock. If you're interested in that let me know and I'll give you the info on it.

Early Bird,

I noticed that spice barn sells 90K cayenned in one pound bags, nothing smaller.
Does the heat diminish over time?
Thats a lot of cayenne to go through. for me at least.

Cool Cayenne Pepper Powder!

My Spice Barn Cayenne came yesterday - only 2 days after I ordered it.
Now That's what I call Service!
No, Arrow, I don't think the heat is affected by time. When I have purchased
it from the HFStore in one lb bags, several at a time, I just store it in one of
my kitchen cabinets. You might want to check out www.GreenHerbCafe.com
for a smaller quantity. They sell the 90,000 heat units too.
I haven't opened the box yet so I don't know how it's packaged. I usually use
a grapefruit spoon to transfer the Cayenne from the plastic bag to a 3.+ oz
spice shaker. If you put the small shaker in a cereal bowl or small saucer to
catch any that misses the shaker, you won't waste any of the powder. I may
use one pound in a 2 month period. I never measure daily how much I use.
When the shaker gets empty, I just refill it.

drJohn, thank you for the offer on the meat stock but I rarely use those. I do
eat lots of greens, mostly fresh but canned too occasionally.

Oh my gosh EarlyBird!! I thought you probably put the cayenne in capsules! I could never eat 90 K sprinkled on food! You sound like my daughter and her hot sauce that she pours on everything...I like a drop or two of Tabasco on scrambled eggs or cottage cheese after years of watching Bob eat it, but I'm lucky if there's any in the fridge because my daughter eats it so much. There is right now because I had her look before I had her get the cottage cheese. She married a Cajun three years ago so I don't complain if the hot seasoning goes in gumbo or jambalaya...Im hooked on it...but she keeps the heat down a little for me. That's why I had to get home from the hospital! I could never eat 90 K though!!!

Wink

Honey, I'm not called a "red hot mama" for nothing! LOL!
Actually, cayenne also raises one's metabolism. Just sooo many good things
it does for a person.
