Turmeric was a favorite ancient treatment for ringworm. This method, favored during the Vedic period in Indian history, is still used by some sufferers today. The Vedic period lasted from about the 1st century BCE to the 6th Century BCE. The afflicted would mix a small amount of turmeric (about a teaspoon) with honey to taste, and consume this mixture. Turmeric juice would be applied directly to the site of infection. Tea tree oil was used in Australia to treat ringworm, and remains a popular holistic remedy.

That's interesting. I did not know that turmeric was antiparasitic. Internally, it would probably require a lot of it. Externally?

Tea tree oil make sense. My favorite is wormwood and black walnut hulls (contains iodine).

Turmeric Tincture is anti-parasitic, but the powdered form, not so much.

I have used both, but only the tincture killed worms.

my parents would use methiolate (I know thats probably spelled wrong) when we had ring worm.... monkey blood some folks called it... it looks alot like iodine.

Merthiolate and mercurichrome (sp?) are mercury compounds. No longer available in the US, but you can get them in other countries.
