This is a good idea.. adding treats or other things to a good dog food. I went to a local store that carries some good brands and got several cans of the Eagle Pack food, thinking i would see first if she would eat it. Well... she really likes it. i think she washed the dish a couple of times.. i could see my reflection.
I've been adding vitamin c and fish oil to her diet for a couple of months. but.. I guess i need to add more.
I used to walk Sophie daily, until my son took over. Then she got 3 walks a day. She has always gotten a lot of exercise, and yes.. it definitely helps. The vets usually think she is about half her age and can't get over her muscle tone.
but.. the eye problems in Boston Terriers are a genetic weakness. Actually.. the fact that she really hasn't had any problems for the first 9 years of her life is pretty good.. I just didn't realize it. And cataracts are suprisingly common in older dogs of all breeds.. I'm finding out.
I think my main problem is not exercise, but making sure her eyes don't get scratched again when she is being walked. My son says he has to really steer her, and has cut down on her walks because he is afraid of her running into things.
I would not put the MMS in the food as it will oxidize the food and lose its potency to do the work. Just put it in the water and let both your pets benefit.
When I flush my dogs eyes I take an ounce measure and flush half into each eye twice a day. I liked this cause it helped wash out eye gunk at the same time but here is no reason that you could not use an eye dropper and put in some every 4 hours. How much? Enough to fully wet the eye.
The carnosine eye drops Bright Eyes from LEF have a lubrication ingredient that I suspect would be very helpful.
You can read about using sodium chlorite for animals here. Just remember that MMS is 7 times stronger per drop.

However, they all warn that if the eye gets red and irritated.. to stop. But, her eyes are already red, so I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to tell if there was a problem.
so, i think I'm going to try to get the eye ulcers healed first. But, the collodial silver seems to be helping ... better than the drops the vet gave me. And she isn' running when she hears me get these drops, so I wonder if the drops the vet gave me stung a bit. The collodial silver seems to be more comfortable for her. And her eyes are still red.. but not as much.
I didn't give her the MMS, instead I gave her some collodial silver internatlly for a few days. She seems to be a bit perkier.. my son noticed it too. so.. i think it is helping.

thank you, Beach Man.. yes, I am using the Soveriegn Silver (10ppm) on her eyes.. and I have seen more improvement in 1 week, than I found in 5+ weeks with the gentamicin sulfate drops the vet gave me. Wish I had started with this. She also seems to not be a traumatized, so maybe the silver drops feel better on her eyes.

Barbara, I went ahead and got the yeast kit for my doggie, just to see if the protocol they recommended would help her get better. or maybe I was just overwhelmed by all the before and after pictures of doggies and cats on the site.
Barbara, why do you say that MMS is 7 times stronger than Ox-E-Drops? Ox-E-Drops is 5% sodium chlorite solution, and MMS is 28% sodium chlorite solution. right?
