Default okay, here we go - with help this time

Posting this here too, as i hope to soon see some progress!!!!!!

feb 7th weight and goal is:
87kgs (191.4 pounds)/65 kgs (143pounds) - then will reassess!

okay Ladies (i think you're all ladies..?) hmm, make that Ladies and Gentlemen!

right, so being the "i can do it" girl, and having read and heard some things, i thought i didn't have to really go gung-ho following rules to the letter (silly ME)('')

so i'm writing this to say i am actually starting properly today. no seeds, nuts etc, and am going to properly (PROPERLY) follow the induction rules. this, of course, is because my scale hasn't budged!!!!!!!!!! so sick of seeing 87 kgs! this weight seems to be my body's happy position, but i am fighting back, baby!

so, starting today, i will be making the few little changes i should have bloomin' made LAST month... like no milk in my coffee (i used quite a bit - will switch to cream now), no more atkins shakes made with milk, yogurt and almond meal (yes, i know, i know!!!!!), no more LSA for the stevieL's bread (will only use flax meal, i promise!!...and no more unlimited tomatoes (as they are around 4 grams each; will count them properly) etc-etc
I have more hope to budge that scale now that i am making a commitment to do it right. i have always been the type of person who thinks i can make little changes to suit myself....siiiigh, and double-sigh.....dr phil does say in his book that we need to admit when we need help!!!

however, i won't bother buying the book i think - as all the info seems to be on this and the atkins.com site. (note from tracy feb 28th: i did buy the book and it is GOLD! GOLD I TELL YOU!) i don't need to understand the science i think- i'm comfortable with tthe science - just need to follow the rules on allowable foods without fudging.('')

wish me luck! and many thanks for all the support and info here - i have certainly been making use of it.....

Nov: 8thyou know, i go back every now and then and read this post - and i'm so happy to reprt that so far i've lost at least 12 kgs - how good is that?!??!

tracy

ps - is anyone else annoyed by the atkins.com site ("sweet, sexy science" SHEESH!)

Default One Item Left Out

Hi, Tracy. I'm happy to read about your quest for the perfect
body and you don't need luck, you can do it but there is one
item you left out of the equation that being WATER you need
to drink a lot of water, when they say eight-eight ounce glasses
they mean just that and if you work out you will need more.
Trust me, if you see things starting to go wrong and you know
in your hart that your not drinking enough water start drinking.
Take care, gyroflex.

thanks gyroflex! i should have mentioned i am a big water fan....can easily down 16 ounces in one shot...freaks out my husband - although i try to have 1 cup at a time...but this is australia, where the current temp is +40 or so C, and so 2 cups is usually the go at one time

so, no probs with the water...i think for me it was all the extras i wasn't bothering to count (as though MY body were different from everyone else's),a nd the rules i was thinking it was no problem to break.

have also ordered online a stainless steel (pink!) bottle for the gym.....cant wait to get it!

For those that join me in being jealous at the thought of a stainless steel water bottle (so much better for your health and the environment) ...I found this site which is actually cheaper that ordering from the mfg site -

I got a stainless water bottle (40 oz! it's huge!) from the BF for christmas. He got the sleeve that goes with it and we sewed a shoulder strap on it. So easy to throw over my shoulder and go to class! I love it.

Is the 40oz to big to lug around or would you recommend it over the 24 -
Thinking about one not only for me but for my ds who takes a wb to school everyday.

i found a really cheap site, and was sooo excited..til i realized it was american!! my being in australia made it a little more pricey

https://www.healthegoods.com/product/...FRIcawodQz_rUg

and...they're on SALE!!!!!

you can see why i was excited...but anyway, i found a good price here in aus, and bought one for my daughter too, who's in school and so has a bottle sitting in her bag all day...not good, as the temps here get up past the 40's - think of all that leaching plastic!!!!!

Tracy... this may make you feel better about your dd water bottle:

https://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/petbottles.asp
https://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/petbottles.asp

All those emails we get about dioxins in plastic are bogus. There is NO dioxin in plastic. The biggest risk of reusing plastic water bottles is bacteria... so just wash the bottle between uses. And, if you recycle, it's environmentally friendly, too... probably more so, considering what it takes to make steel.

Check out all of those "danger" emails at www.snopes.com!

And please... don't forward them til you DO check out their validity. You just pass along the unnecessary fear.

yeah, i've read that about microwaving plastic - and then forgot all about it!! i do taste plastic though when my water's been in my current bottle long enough, which is kind of yucky...and...the SS bottles are cool!

also - apparently only 33 percent of plastic bottles are recycled...so i'll be happy getting my stainless.

very, very glad to hear my dd bottle is good though, SHE"S never complained..so if she loses the ss one, she's going back to lastic!

oh, yes, no forwarding of emails. i'm a big fan of urbanlegends.com and snopes...but i do forget they're there sometimes! actually, i'm the person who, when i get one of those emails, i send the link back to EVERYONE who forwarded them on, and ask them next time not to waste time! when i have the time to do that, that is!

take care all, and thanks Tril! (and for the PM)
