Hi there, does anyone know about Ayurveda? I have just picked up this positive news story regarding in India regarding the herb 'Ashwagandha root' having a positive effect on Alzheimers it doesn't appear to be in the UK press as yet. https://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-03-04/delhi/31120805_1_amyloid-mice-alzheimer
there also seems to be a second herb in the 'Ayurveda' world which has shown promise. Someone wrote to me on a message board the following below -
'Aswagandha is one of several Indian herbs (and spices) that may help both prevent and treat Alzheimer's disease. One of these plants for which clinical trial evidence exists is Bacopa monnieri (also known as Brahmi or water hyssop). https://iomcworld.com/ijcrimph/ijcrimph-v03-n04-01.htmhttps://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ptr.2195/abstract The answer to Alzheimer's disease is probably already out there in the form of plant based compounds, but how long it will take someone in the mainstream medical community to accept that answer is anyone's guess. '

I would welcome any comments/info on the above? Many thanks
