I'm 25 and my boyfriend and I are stepping up in our relationship. We are talking about kids in the future and I've always had a fear of making that promise and being infertile.
I have never had a regular cycle, I started at 14 and average a cycle every 2.5 months, sometimes less, sometimes more. They are very short, averaging 3 or 4 days with only one day of heavy flow, usually this is day 2. PMS is the whole week before my cycle. BC made me feel sick when I was younger so I got off it until earlier this year. I am now prescribed a cycle every 3 months on Low-Osestrel (mood swings included). My Mother, Aunt, younger Sister and Cousin also had these issues. My Mom, Aunt and Cousin were forced to correct with BC. My sister is 21 and never been on it. Mom confessed to never really being regular until after kids.
Also, I am scheduled to have a LEEP this spring. My results never found Cancer or HPV, but they want to remove it anyway. (I'm contributing it to a college injury where we got to rough and I jumped off in agonizing pain that lasted for weeks.) I know that the risks of LEEP are complications with conceiving and carrying. It's natural to fear not being able to reproduce, but I feel I might be high risk.
I have warned my bf that it might be difficult. He has a child from a previous marriage and is supportive. However, my family is very offspring oriented and would look down on my inability to carry (they would sympathetically support me). My sister is married and adopted his two children, they have no plans to have more and he can't without a reversal. That is why it is very important to me to have one.
