I am looking for information on the Marshall Protocol and more specific the effects of the treatment.

Shapeshifter did a thread on this protocol awhile back... from her research, it seems pretty scary, I would stay away from it... But then Ive seen shapeshifter's ability to research before and I would trust my life in her hands!!!!

Some people who have lyme have had a positive result from the Marshall Protocol. It certainly would be a last ditch call for me. There are a number of other ways to deal with serious disease than this. If you want to talk with some people who may have attempted this protocol try here:

www.lyme.net

and to their forum:

Here's some commentary that was posted here not too long ago:

Without wishing to repeat information I've supplied previously in other threads we do have to understand that the Marshall Protocol is not only contrary to common sense it is also contrary to all the research that has been and is being conducted into the effects of vitamin D3.
While I accept there are individuals who are the exception to the rule and for whom the accepted practice simply doesn't apply these are rare exceptions.
There are examples here of the way people who try MP and fail to thrive on this plan If we are going to consider this way then the computer software on which the predictions are based should be open to scrutiny.
The only way science can progress is if when discoveries are made that information is shared and others can then repeat those experiments, see for themselves that information is correct and by confirming the findings validate that evidence.

I have not see that or any independent evidence confirming the validity of Trevor Marshall's protocol.

The MP > Does Exogenous Vitamin D Really Dock & Deactivate the VDR and Innate Immunity?
Quite a useful dissection of the MP here.

The thread provides a link to this new research.

25-Hydroxyvitamin D(3) Is An Agonistic Vitamin D Receptor Ligand.
25-Hydroxyvitamin D(3) 1alpha-hydroxylase encoded by CYP27B1 converts 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) into 1alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3), a vitamin D receptor ligand.

25-Hydroxyvitamin D(3) has been regarded as a prohormone.

Using Cyp27b1 knockout cells and a 1alpha-hydroxylase-specific inhibitor we provide in four cellular systems, primary mouse kidney, skin, prostate cells and human MCF-7 breast cancer cells, evidence that 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) has direct gene regulatory properties.

The high expression of megalin, involved in 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) internalisation, in Cyp27b1(-/-) cells explains their higher sensitivity to 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3).

25-Hydroxyvitamin D(3) action depends on the vitamin D receptor signalling supported by the unresponsiveness of the vitamin D receptor knockout cells.

Molecular dynamics simulations show the identical binding mode for both 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) and 1alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3) with the larger volume of the ligand-binding pocket for 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3).

Furthermore, we demonstrate direct anti-proliferative effects of 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) in human LNCaP prostate cancer cells.

The synergistic effect of 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) with 1alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3) in Cyp27b1(-/-) cells further demonstrates the agonistic action of 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) and suggests that a synergism between 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) and 1alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3) might be physiologically important.

In conclusion, 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) is an agonistic vitamin D receptor ligand with gene regulatory and anti-proliferative properties.

In my view this proves MP is wrong. But I haven't read the full text yet. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a copy.
