I suspect her problem is that she is now paying the price for all that apple juice she drank. She most likely has a yeast infection in her stomach.
If it is the doctor will never find it. They don't test for yeast/mold. I'll bet you he will just prescribe an antibiotic. Fat lot of good that will do.!

Athletic Dept. the good thing about that is, if the dr says Im not sure what the problem is, here is an antibiotic for her, my daughter wont give it to her.... She has iodine, and is willing to give iodine, and/or collodial silver before antibiotics.

A thorough search of her room and belongings has brought up no evidence of diuretics or laxatives....but again, that doesnt mean that she doesnt have them stashed elsewhere.

So my daughter informed granddaughter no apple juice.... granddaughter is very unhappy and seems to be going through withdrawals already.... very mean and grouchy, very upset that she cant have her apple juice very irratable....we might have found the beginning of the problem...thank you all for working with me!!!! Arrow, thanks for the info about the allergy testing, I will copy and send to her... wish it were that easy with the grandson's allergies!

She has recently started losing alot of hair.. mom realised last night that granddaugters hair is unusually thin compared to 6 months ago... She has also lost about 30 pounds in two months, and is bruising very very easily. Daughter said granddaughter was wrestling with her sister, the other day, and the younger one bit this granddaughter... instead of the area getting red, it turned into an immediate bruise.. According to daughter she has bruises all over her legs... She has also become extremely tired all of a sudden, going to bed early instead of screaming to stay up till midnight, and seems to take alot of naps, and has also been having alot of headaches.

My first thought was anorexia or bulemia, but mom questioned her and has been watching her eating, and it doesnt appear to be an eating disorder... My second thought was "Oh God, please dont let her be pregnant or an std" Daughter is fairly secure that granddaughter isnt sexually active, but we will find out for sure with Tuesdays Dr.s visit. Daughter doesnt seem to feel that its any type of drugs, but again hopefull tues. dr's visit can rule that out, but mom is considering an impromtu drug test. My only other thoughts, is anemia, and the concept that I dont even want to think about, lukemia...... Somebody, please give me some other ideas of what it might be...something we might be missing! When my daughter called their new doctor friday, they schedualed an appointment for tues afternoon...which in and of itself is scary, because a normal new patient visit (my daughter has seen this doctor but granddaughter will be considered a new patient) normally takes three weeks, and they want to see her immediatly..... Come on guys...help me think.... any other symptoms we need to check before they go to the doctor..any other info we need to make sure doctor has a correct diagnosis.....Tell me that this can be something else other then whats lurking in the back of my head
The multiple symptoms sound like it may well be a classic case of iron deficiency. In what I consider to be the best all inclusive and concise article ever written on the subject, including its treatment, Dr. Priscilla Slagle, M.D., in identifying iron deficiency as "a significant global problem" states that in the U.S., "20% of the women and children are clearly deficient" and that "Iron deficiency is the most common nutrient deficiency in American children" and "the most common nutrient deficiency in the world."

Dr. Slagle identifies a number of groups who are at particular risk, including among others, and right on point for your concern, "Teenagers ... because of rapid growth rates, and poor eating habits", "Menstruating women..." some of whom she states "require twice as much iron as do men", and "Those with poor thyroid functioning."

Included among the many possible symptoms are depression, fatigue, listlessness, weakness, appetite loss, sores on skin, poor wound healing, hairloss, growth impairment in children, headaches, anemia, weakness, and and more. However, note that she precedes the list of possible symptoms with the following statement, in pertinent part, under the title:

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF IRON DEFICIENCY

"...an iron deficient person would not have all of these symptoms, but some constellation of them. With 5 or more, consider iron problems."

Read about it here:

https://www.thewayup.com/newsletters/081504.htm

Also note the list of symptoms of iron deficiency anemia in this article and how some of them, including "bruising that occurs without reason", match up with your granddaughter's symptoms:

https://thyroid.about.com/cs/symptomsproblems/a/iron.htm

The large amounts of apple juice being consumed may very well be a major contributor to the problem in that it is probably limiting the consumption of needed iron rich foods, thus contributing to "poor eating habits" and "appetite loss". Another related issue to consider is whether or not the apple juice, or something else your granddaughter has been eating or drinking, contains the artificial sweetener, Sucralose - also known as Splenda, which reportedly has been noted for a number of side effects, including skin rashes, flushing, dizziness, bleeding, hairloss, and headaches among others. Click on the following Link and scroll down to the section entitled, Artificial Sweeteners & Flavorings, and read about Sucralose (Splenda). Also take a look at some of the other additives and note their side effects and consider whether or not any of them may be included in her food or drink.

Thanks Beach man! The doctor seems to feel it is an iron deficiency...but they are doing a bunch of blood work just in case.... still waiting for the blood work to come back...
the granddaughter has been off the apple juice for a bit over a week..daughter was going to test her this afternoon, but havent heard anything yet... Hopefully they will cut the apple juice out for at least awhile.
my grandson is allergic to the sucralose.... his mom was buying him applejuice thinking that it was healthy, because it had no added sugar... she never even knew what sucralose was.... but it causes him a bad rash around his genital area... Im not sure why it is so specific as in just one area, but thats what happens. We are getting better at reading labels thats for sure!

If it is iron deficiency I highly recommend the Nature Sunshine product called IX formula. When doing midwifery we used it on our clients all the time. It turns around anemia quickly. Stay away from those pills the doc will want to give... unless one likes getting nowhere fast with constipation to boot.
