Question How Do You Like Your COFFEE?

Thought I'd make a light thread here with a poll asking how you like your coffee!

My parents were around during the Depression, and sugar wasn't used in my home for coffee, it was kind of a luxury. Also, way back then , we used milk instead of cream or creamer (which probably wasn't around yet).

Anyway...cream, creamer, half and half...I like plenty of it! Many folks commented at my work, "little coffee with your cream?"

Exclamation Sweet and low!??????

Marilyn27, are you aware that Sweet 'n Low is Aspertame which is poisonous to your system. Aspertame can cause Lupus as well as
many other health problems.

Early Bird, I know, sadly, I know... I'm just so used to the taste of it and I can't have sugar -

I should carry around my own stevia, maybe, hey?

I try it every once in awhile when I have a leftover can of condensed milk that was used for cooking. I don't really care for it, because it is sweet, and I've never been used to using sugar in my coffee.

I only drink 1 1/2 to 2 cups everyday in the morning. Maybe if I drank it throughout the day, I'd want to experiment with different flavors.

It is quite sweet, I'll have that every so often instead of a dessert or something - I keep a tube of condensed milk for these times...

Thumbs up Marilyn27 - Stevia!

Yes, definitely take your own packets of Stevia with you. I do and have for years. You have no idea what that crappola is doing to your system/body.

With cream or milk. As for coffee brands:

1) Dunkin Donuts
2) Eight o'clock
3) Doue Eberts (sp?)

Personally (no offense intended) I really despise starbucks. It tastes burnt.

You're not offending me saved1986, I've had negative feelings towards Starbucks from the beginning. Honestly, I never had their coffee. On a couple of rare occassions, I had one of their frappaccinos (sp?), the cold thing that's flavored and covered in whipped cream.

Everything there seems to be WAY overpriced. A co-worker at my old job had a wife that worked there, and brought in doughnuts/muffins/bread a couple of times. All those things tasted like garbage, kind of gummy.

It was a gimmick that caught on. A few yrs ago I had a one yr position teaching at a college in PA and they served starbucks in the lobby of the science building. I picked up an empty package of their decaf and read it. They use methylene chloride to remove the caffeine. NOT GOOD! Also, they have put more local mom and pop coffee shops out of business than anyone else.

Starbucks tastes burnt because it IS burnt... they roast the beans past a certain degree and achieve this specific flavour, therefore maintaining quality control across the board...
