\r\n \r\n I got fed up with his constant moaning and only being prepared to accept double blind placebo controlled tests as valid reasons to accept anything alternative,something he knew full well was economically impossible in alternative medicine. Add to this his constant remarks that not just some things, but almost everything alternative was a \'scam\' and we were guilty of misleading people, made him in my mind a troll.

In 09 I joined a COPD forum to seek help for my dad. I was banned for posting things I was finding (nutrition, supplements etc) They did not take kindly to it at all and I was being straight up. Then a few months ago some people on a troll board and I raided the place and they were really pissed. But the people on that forum do not want to hear things that are not FDA approved treatments and they get upset. I upset them when I trolled the place and the board leader was a real arrogant prick.\r\n

\nI can recall getting banned from a dog forum for airing my views on vaccines. It was like a bomb went off! Most of the people there were vaccinating their dogs every year and wouldn\'t hear any negative comments on vaccines, so I know what you mean about being banned for believing in alternative health.

\nI do miss Iggy here also. We are still in contact and share information from time to time. He was truly a worthwhile member and I don\'t really recall the exact details on why he is gone...but he was not banned, but he has told me that he would not return due to the injustice done to him here. The closest he comes to being here is to PM me. He was an asset, not a distraction, for learning about and implementing alternative health, as you are also pinballdoc.

\nWithout distraction we have the strength to continually move forward in our revelations and understandings of maintaining and attaining health.... .. and I see us as a group growing in our knowledge and ability to transfer knowledge. We have some very valuable folks here not just in knowledge, but in compassion, which in my mind is of equal value.

\nMany come here who are in dire straights. We do not always have the answers for them unfortuantely. But for many we do. If sick people have to wade through all the Bill5 type of BS then it becomes very difficult for them. They are looking for other kinds of answers, not a debate, not a confrontation, not access to double blind studies. They want to know how to get well in as simple terms as possible. They also are looking for evidence of cure and hope and new possibilities.

\nI do not understand fully why Bill5 was banned, nor do I really care to know as it is irrelevant to me in light of my own frustration with him and the shadow he casted up threads.

\nUltimately people can make their own decisions on what is right for them. If alternative medicine is not right for them they can seek their help elsewhere and pay homage to the double blind study and the pharmaceutical empire if they so choose.

I\'m not sure if it\'s his forum.. but, alot of the old crew from the ht.com forum hang there. All of my favs & files got wiped out a while back, so I\'ve lost the addy

Hello pinballdoctor, sorry for the late reply, but I just returned from a camping trip with my husband. Members are banned from the forum for good reasons, and therefore unbanning is not necessary. Explanations are not required on my behalf, as details regarding specific members are not up for discussion with others on the board.

This place should be free of drama, it distracts from all the health aspects that we seek. I don\'t know much about the old forum and any of its members, but some of them sound like real \'pieces of work\' to say the least. A health forum should be neither a soap opera nor a 3-ring circus. The folks here are open-minded, and anyone who frequents NatMedTalk knows that all points of view are welcomed and rational discussion/debates are just one way of learning and exploring all that\'s out there in the field of health and natural medicine.\r\n

Maybe I misunderstood, but it seemed to me like it was a demand, not a request. I\'ve never made it a practice of passing the buck, nor do I have a reason to. Reasons don\'t have to be given as explained in my reply...

\r\n \r\n This is just a suggestion, but some forums have a quarantine area for people who are opposed to the forum\'s general point of view to debate. A vegan forum I used to post in, had a special area for non-vegans to debate basic issues, and the rest of it was only for people who were sympathetic. There was a similar thing on a far-right racist forum I joined for a bit to argue with them. I was only allowed to post in a quarantine area called \'The Cage\'. That way, people who don\'t want to get sidetracked by repeating the basic arguments all the time can just not visit that part of the forum, but on the other hand, visitors who come to argue may actually get the chance to be exposed to arguments they might not have thought of. Just a polite suggestion.\r\n

Ok, who is BILL5 and why was he banned?

I know he liked to argue on behalf of mainstream medicine, and seemed to be opposed to pretty much all alternative proceedures, however, we need people like him/her in this forum. We can't be all one-sided.

Now I don't like when he called a respected member an idiot and thus should have been reprimanded but I don't believe in total banning of a member with over 70 posts because trolls generally start trouble right off the bat, not after several posts, and the same goes for spamming.

I doubt very much that BILL5 was a spammer, so I would like some comments here, especially from whoever banned this person, and don't pass the buck ... I sometimes get a little enthusiastic with my point of view and could have been banned from this forum a few times if the mods wanted that, but it takes all kinds of people to make up a forum such as this, so banning should be the last option, not the first.

K2C, I am counting on you to either explain why this person is no longer here, or doing whatever it takes to unban, or is the term deban?

I've gone back over BILL5 last 15 to 20 posts and cannot see the reason, or did I miss something??
