My mother-in-law when is sick makes a tea that she makes herself out of ginger and garlic. The ginger I've read helps with upset stomach and nausea, which I'm guessing it's why she puts it in her tea.
Well I keep reading more and more about ginger being a natural antibiotic, so I was wondering if people take it when they feel sick or do any of you take it only when you feel you have some type of infection like bronchitis?
I was reading somewhere that garlic kills not just bad bacteria, but also good bacteria, so you should take it with probiotics or yogurt to help keep the good bacteria, which I know my mother-in-law doesn't do.
I guess you should also keep taking high supply of garlic after your illness is gone just like you would with antibiotics, but for how long?
The antibiotic properties of garlic are a direct result of the allicin produced from raw, crushed garlic. This is destroyed by age and cooking - cooked garlic has virtually no antibiotic value although it still retains other benefits.
So, since I take vitamin D twice a day, drink 4 cups of green tea a day and a glass of wine for dinner each night is why I haven't gotten sick in the longest time?

Seems to me the fact you are not eating curry with turmeric (curcumin) and onions&garlic fried in coconut oil so you are not doing all you could to improve your natural anti biotic status.
It's about time you got a grip and tried harder.

Would my weekends eating curry goat and curry lamb help me out? I have cold pressed coconut oil at home, but to be honest I don't use it very often.
My latest favorite meal is long grain organic brown rice with garlic, onions, broccoli, with a ton of curry on it. Then I take my vitamin D pill with a spoon full of cold pressed virgin coconut oil, washed down with a glass full of colloidal silver.

I have read that cooked garlic doesn't work. The allicin from the garlic needs to be consumed raw and it should be crushed and set in the air for 10 minutes before consuming.

Yes, garlic is best eaten raw. The more you cook it, the greater its medicinal value is degraded.
There are garlic tablets available. Not as good as raw garlic... both very good. In combination with echinacea tablets they make a potent mix.
All good information! I do have a question, though. A friend gave me eight bottles of garlic oil capsules. Will they be worth taking or should I just kindly thank her for the gift?
Probably taking the garlic oil pills will be beneficial. One has to consider what they are trying to do with garlic as garlic is multiversed in its different preparations.
I know of a woman who cured her MRSA by religously eating fresh raw garlic cloves day and night for several months. The active ingredient, allicin is a potent antimicrobial but not all garlic preparations contain it. It is easiest found in fresh raw garlic but most people cannot eat enough of it to have a theraputic effect. . Hence you have products like Allimed, processed to preserve the active allicin in pill form. It is very spendy though but it does cure systemic MRSA after about 3 to 4 months if you take the right dosage.. I dont recall what that is right now... but it will cost about $400 a month... a drop in the hat compared to the risks and significant dangers of vancomycin and some of the other nightmare drugs.
