\nRecently, I\'m now 62, I finally gave in and went to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist. I went in order to find out if I\'m allergic to something for 6 decades that gives me this condition. We haven\'t even tested for allergies. She got me a CT scan of my sinuses and discovered that I have chronic sinusitis and most likely from fungus. So I\'ve been nebulizing with Diflucan (fluconozole) for 3 weeks now. I also put a few drops of colloidal silver in the nebulizer, because it kills all fungus and bacteria. Meanwhile, I am astounded at how quickly I am getting far better than anything I\'ve tried before.

\ni was given a referral for a ct scan but didnt get it done as once again i wonder whether it will tell me anything significant and I don\'t want to unnecessarily expose myself to the radiation...

\ni wouldnt be surprised if there was some infection there as green mucus usually indicates bacterial infection and in the sinuses is often fungus related... but given that im not getting fevers etc... then i cant imagine it is real bad... so once again this my reason for trying to find a solution without surgery, radiation, or strong meds...

Having said that, I still encourage the use of non-iodized sea salt with a pinch of baking soda (aluminum-free) with filtered water as a good nasal/sinus rinse.

\r\n \r\n OK so here is my story which may help others in your quest for comfort from Sinusitis.

\r\nI was diagnosed with chronic Sinusitis which I would get everytime I had a cold. I would also develop a strep throat.The only cure was antibiotics although as time went on and the number and severity of the infections increased it was clear the antibiotics were becoming less effective.I went to a specialist who suggested surgery and at that point I turned to the internet firstly to establish that I did want to go ahead with the proceedure and secondly to see what alternatives there were.

\r\nAfter several years of trial and error I have a solution which works for me.

\r\n1 To reduce the likelihood of colds increase vitimin D - Cod liver oil I am afraid although in apple juice it doesnt taste to bad. Every day if possible.

\r\nAlso Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tablespoons once a day in a pint of hot water.

\r\nKeep refined carbohydrates to a minimum ie not much white bread

\r\n2. If I get a cold which I still do once or twice a year take Ibrufen immediately to minimise swelling of the nasal linings and keep taking for 24 - 48 hours. Increase ACV to every 2 -4 hours to keep you hydrated and to prevent a sore throat and also helps with the nasal passages

\r\n3.Wait for the sneezing to die down and the nasal linings to tighten which for me it is day 2 or 3 of the cold and then twice daily use a Net Pot - I use tap water (London) with sea salt.

\r\nUsing this technique I no longer fear colds and normally I am clear after 4-5 days without the need for any other medication.
\r\n
\r\nWhen the infection clears itself and the horrible nasal gunk is washed away by the Neti Pot it is a great feeling! ......and without either antibiotics or surgery

\r\nI also use a neti pot once every 2 or 3 days to keep the nose clean.

\nYou can also buy a really nice air filter for your home to help get rid of dust mites.. there are some really good ones out there.. like medical grade but they can be expensive.
