I'm looking to buy calcium carbonate in powder form....no flavoring added or anything....just plain calcium carbonate....

NOW brand supplements have it and can be found at Amazon or iHerb or .... Most major on-line supplement vendors has it.

I tried to make my own toothpaste....mixed baking soda and h2o2....
and some peppermint oil and a little coconut oil....

it did not work well.....
there's a reason toms of maine barely uses any baking soda and mainly uses calcium carbonate...and gylercin...

H2O2 is unstable. Given time, it will turn into H2O.

A more simple toothpaste, and one that I use, is 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. That's it. Just scrape a little onto your toothbrush and brush away. The coconut oil is antibacterial, so it is good for your gums and will last a long time in your container. you can also add a few drops of essential oil for taste. I don't bother.

baking soda is too rough on my gums....
plus it does not mix well....

i want something smooth like toms of maine....

They are probably using calcium carbonate for the grit factor.

as a supplement it is trash and I wouldn't put it in my body.
Just brush with straight baking soda..no need for all the fussy stuff.

If baking soda is too rough for your gums you need to get to work
on some kind of oral protocol.

i only plan on using the calcium carbonate to make toothpaste...

I'm not sure if it was the baking soda or h2o2. But when i used the stuff I made...my gums turn a little reddish and it definitely is harsher than normal toothpaste

plus the baking soda is just disgusting...and it does not mix well....
I'm gonna try the calcium carbonate and see how that goes....

tom's first ingredient is calcium carbonate....one of the last ingredients is baking soda....

I saw that...its kind of expensive, though. More so than Toms.

I mostly try to find anything that contains no sodium laurel sulfate (SLS). Recently I've been making my own as I've said before. Baking soda and coconut oil. I understand that the baking soda in this format is to harsh for you.

isn't sorbitol an artifical sweetener? and bad?
isn't Carrageenan also not good?
and natural mint flaor just means they are no longer using pure peppermint oil....otherwise, of course, they'd list it as peppermint oil...
and Potassium Sorbate is a preservative....

I'm going to try and make my own again.
this time, I'll be using calcium carbonate and glycerin and peppermint oil....and perhaps a tiny bit of h2o2.

Limitme, here is a video that mountain rose herbs put out...they posted it on facebook yesterday. Im sure buying all this stuff might be a bit expensive, but if you buy it specifically just for making toothpowder, then you will probably be set for life, you will never have to buy the stuff again....a little bit goes along way with the powder..... Im wondering why they used sage though.
