Default Oolong Tea for weight loss

A friend of mine started taking Oolong tea just over a month ago because he could not lose abdominal fat. He has had good results and has lost from abdomnial area. I just started taking 2 x day about 2 weeks ago. I could swear my abdominal area is a little better because my shirts fit better in the abdomial area. However, I also started taking Iodine for deficiency about 1 week ago.

I have read a few posts on here that say Oolong Tea can cause Iodine deficiency. Anyhow, I am going to continue what I've started.

Just interested to know if anyone else has tried Oolong for weight loss. I have looked up on internet and supposedly for what ever reasons Oolong works better than green or white for weight loss purposes.

Many types of black and green tea have natural fluoride in them. Fluoride will block iodine absorption in the thyroid. Perhaps if you take a daily dose of iodine it will be enough to prevent this isssue... relying on just what is in food or salt will surely keep the much of this tiny amount of iodine out of your thyroid.

Because Japanese have historically have had such good thyroid health and they drink lots of black and green tea, but also, if on a traditional diet, eat 12.5 mg of iodine a day, I would say that the two can work together if there is enough iodine in the diet.

I heard about oolong making you loose weight the first time a few months ago when I was bored watching Dr. Oz and he mentioned that you loose the most weight with oolong tea.

I think white, green, oolong and black tea all have their own benefits and of course flavor.

Please keep us posted if you really loose weight from simply start drinking oolong tea. I can tell you that I used to drink black coffee for breakfast every morning and for lunch I used to have one can of diet soda. Now I drink 2-4 cups of hot green tea and I drink water for lunch and every now and then I'll have Jazzmine tea for lunch. I haven't had a diet soda in nearly a year. I've lost a lot of weight and I've kept it off, because I changed my life style and not just a quick diet. I can't say for sure if the changing from coffee to green tea had the biggest impact or if it was giving up diet soda.

My wife isn't drinking coffee anymore and never drank diet soda and she didn't loose as much weight as I did, but then again I had probably more to lose.
