\r\n \r\n It depends on whats most comfortable for you I suppose... Lots of folks fast one day a week. I know some that fast two days a week. It wont hurt you to fast a day or two a week...as long as the next day you dont double your daily calories to make up for it.... if you fast for 5-7 days...you need to take a day or two to gradually go back into eating food... if after a 7 day fast, the first thing you eat is a steak and potatoe meal then you might have a lot of discomfort and from what I have been told, could do some damage to your system... start with soft foods, eat smaller meals and be gentle to your system and you should be good which ever way you decide to go\r\n

\r\n \r\n I have done many 20 to 23 day fasts over my life time, all with juices of various sorts. I cannot be sure if this is related or not but when I had tests done I had remarkably low levels of toxic chemicals and metals... during the fasts I often used Heel Preparations or other homeoapathic preparations for lymphatic and metals detox formulas.

\nI have done the coffee enemas also as they will stimulate the liver to amp up its detox functions. The portal vein which runs along the colon will absorb the coffee and take it directly to the liver.\r\n

\r\n \r\n On the subject of fasting I think Paavo Airola has the best information. Tho it is not the newest. On the subject of juices no one has mentioned diluting them 50% as Airola recommends. The info on no significant toxin spills sounds right. The body needs some time to get into that mode and as someone pointed out... to get out of it properly. Airola is pretty specific about breaking a juice fast. Also the need for walking during the fast to keep lymph and other things moving. He recommends daily enemas also.

\r\n \r\n The juice fast is safer than a fast so you do not have to worry about dying from too little potassium that appears in 1 out of 100 people that are fasting. Also you do not have to worry about being too tired to work. So it is better to do it at one time. Two 5 day fasts is not as good as a 10 day fast. The beginning of the fast takes time to get going.

\r\nFor example you fast everyday whenever you are not eating but it takes time to get going for the full effects. So if you do not eat for 3 hours, that is fasting but your body has not gone into the fasting mode. When that happens your tongue gets coated. With the Lemonade Diet it is still safer than fasting but the cleansing happens faster than with a juice fast. With a fast (only water) the cleansing happens the fastest but there is more danger. \r\n

Default Fasting- one long or many few

Once I start a fast I find no difficulty in maintaing it. I have no hunger after the first two days. This is not a water only, I am taking Veg and Fruit juices

But is one long, say 5-7 days better than, perhaps a 2-3 day fast several times a month. The long one would only be every couple months.
