This is ridiculous or maybe I should say unsettling. My legs have always been shaved daily because hair grew very quickly and was dark BUT it has thinned to nearly nothing over the past several years. I don't shave for a week and I have about two dozen 1/16 inch hairs on each leg. lol ATTRACTIVE!
Someone on the interrnet said some patients who have heart disease rarely have hair on their legs and that got me to thinking and worrying.
Anyone else hairless or know of something that can help?
(maybe once digestion get's better and I absorb nutrients more then I'll get my hair back - not that I miss it 'cause shaving was a pain to do daily)
Thanks for trying to make me feel better about this situation. It certainly is nice not to shave as much but if it's from free radical damage or toxin accumulation because of aging I fear and question, "what will I lose next when all my hair is gone?" I can deal with less leg hair but what if my head hair is next or less mental capacity or less hearing or less eyesight, etc...because of aging. I hope to age gracefully.

Possibly all of the above. Some people don't age gracefully, it's good to think about that early and take care of yourself, eat healthy, supplement, etc. My hair, mental abilities and hearing are ok, but I'm in my late 50's and I do use OTC reading glasses 1.75 strength for reading certain things, especially labels. Around menopause, lots of women experience thinning or loss of hair, etc. Sometimes it's hereditary or hormonal and you have no control, but taking care of yourself is a big plus.
Mommysunshine, you might try L-Lysine. You probably should take about 1800 mg/day and you might see results in a few months. After taking the stuff for some time the hair on my head filled out. Under my arms it's trying to come back. I never did have much hair on my legs but on my arms it's seven inches long - I don't know what that is in meters. I am a lot older than I want to be. If you want to combat aging, go to T.A. Sciences.
Grow old gracefully?!!! Why would you want to do that? I deserve my second childhood, and plan on taking advantage of every moment of it!!! I found this poem years ago, and fell in love with it....it inspired the red hat society....they seem to be falling by the wayside nowadays, but I love the idea of it all!!!
Quote:
WARNING!
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other peoples' gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
